동남권관문공항추진위원회(상임공동위원장 허용도)는 "부.울.경 800만 지역주민은 분노하고 있다"며 총리실 산하 검증위원장의 불공정한 개입으로 인해 공정성이 무너진 것에 항의 성명을 28일 발표했다.

추진위원회는 성명을 통해 김수삼 검증위원장이 검증위원 다수 의견을 무시한 채 검증결과를 수정 지시한 것에 대해 공정성이 심각하게 훼손됐다고 질타했다.

아울러 관문공항추진위원회는 검증위원장의 즉각 사퇴를 요구하며, 총리가 직접 결과발표를 주관해야 한다고 주장했다.

추진위는 "부․울․경 지역주민이 국토부의 김해공항 확장안에 대해 총리실 검증을 관철시킨 후 국토부의 무리한 추가 시뮬레이션 요구에도 불구하고 10개월간 인내심을 가지고 기다린 것은, 총리실이 공증한 검증결과를 도출할 것이라는 믿음과 신뢰가 있었기 때문이다"라고 강조했다.

이어 "지난 25일 검증위원회 전체회의 개최과정에서 안전분과 다수 위원들이 복항절차 등에서 심각한 문제가 있다고 결론을 내렸음에도 불구하고 중립을 지켜야할 검증위원장이 국토부의 입맛에 맞는 보고서 수정을 지시했다"며 "이를 통해 수정된 보고서를 표결에 붙인 것은 현 정부의 최우선적 정책가치인 공정성을 훼손한 것으로 대한민국을 부정하는 행위다"라고 비판했다.

또한 "국토부의 대변인 역할을 한 검증위원장의 행태는 개인의 일탈을 넘어 수도권 일극화를 옹호하고 비수도권의 발전을 가로막고자 하는 국토부의 그릇된 월권이자 폭력"이라고 성토했다.

그러면서 "제대로 된 신공항 건설과 공정한 대한민국 바로 세우기를 위해 김수삼 검증위원장은 즉각 사퇴하라"면서 "불응시 국무총리가 직권으로 검증위원장의 해촉을 결단해야 할 것"이라고 요구했다.

추진위는 검증과정이 공정하고 투명하게 이뤄질 수 있도록 지금부터 결과발표에 이르기까지 총리가 직접 주관하여 줄 것과 함께 최종보고서에는 각 분과별 보고서와 전체회의 진행경과 및 표결처리 과정, 수정 이전의 안전분과 보고서 내용 등 검증과정 전체를 자세하게 다 반영해 줄 것을 촉구했다.

덧붙여 "이번 사태를 통해 국토부의 김해공항 확장안이 안정성에서 많은 문제를 가지고 있다는 것이 명백히 증명됐다"면서 "총리실이 최종결과 발표 시 가덕신공항 건설도 함께 발표해 달라"고 요청했다.

추진위는 "이러한 요구가 받아들여지지 않는 다면 부산․울산․경남 800만 지역주민은 이번 결과 에 대해 불복을 선언하고, 모든 수단과 방법을 동원해서라도 불공정한 행태를 바로잡을 것"이라고 경고했다.
