The city of Busan announced on the 13th that it will provide free vaccinations in preparation for the winter influenza epidemic.

Vaccinations will be conducted sequentially starting tomorrow (14th) for ▲ children aged 6 months to 13 years old, ▲ pregnant women, and seniors over 65 years old. Influenza quadrivalent vaccine is used for vaccination.

The city plans to secure 1.6 billion won in its own budget to provide free vaccinations to recipients of medical benefits, the severely disabled, and people of national merit.

In addition, as COVID-19 vaccination is in progress, the inoculation start time will vary by target group and age, and vaccinations will be distributed by medical institution and date through advance reservations.

From the 14th, free vaccination will be provided for ▲children aged 6 months to under 9 years old who have received influenza vaccination for the first time or who received only one dose by June 30 of this year, and ▲pregnant women.

▲ Vaccination will start on October 14 for children aged 6 months to less than 9 years who have been vaccinated with influenza vaccine twice or more (cumulative) and children from 9 to 13 years of age.

From October 12, ▲ seniors aged 75 and over will be vaccinated from October 18, ▲ seniors 70 years and older, from October 21, ▲ seniors 65 years of age and older will be vaccinated free of charge.

From the 21st of next month, those eligible for the Busan City's own project can get vaccinated at consigned medical institutions regardless of their address (except Jung-gu). Residents of Jung-gu can receive inoculations at consigned medical institutions in their jurisdictions. However, the schedule may vary depending on the vaccine supply and demand situation.

A city official said, "As the number of infections in the COVID-19 area continues sporadically, special caution is required when visiting medical institutions for vaccination." You must visit an inoculation institution and bring your ID to check whether you are eligible for free vaccinations,” he said.

In the case of vaccination for the elderly, in order to avoid confusion with the COVID-19 vaccination and to distribute the number of vaccinations, the reservation service is implemented by limiting the number of people who can be vaccinated.

The city will provide detailed information on vaccinations and reservations for the elderly at a later date.

Confirmation of consigned medical institutions for vaccination of children, pregnant women, and the elderly can be found on the website of the Vaccination Helper (https://nip.kdca.go.kr). You can check the Busan City's own project-designated medical institutions on the gu/gun website and the public health center website.
