박형준 시장, 콜롬비아 부통령과 화상회의...다양한 협력방안 논의, 2030엑스포 유치 지지에 감사

[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 박형준 부산시장은 14일 오전 콜롬비아 부통령과 화상회의에서 다양한 협력방안 논의했다.

 

박 시장은 이번 회의에서 마르타 루시아 라미레스(Marta Lucia Ramirez) 콜롬비아 부통령과 부산시-콜롬비아 주요 도시와의 교류.협력 방안 외에도 2030부산세계박람회 유치는 물론 조선.항만.인재양성 등에 대해서도 논의가 오갔다.

 

박형준 시장은 “지난 6월 한국-콜롬비아 양국 정상 간 전화통화에서 이반두케 대통령이 2030부산세계박람회 유치와 관련해서 한국에 대한 지지의 뜻을 밝힌 것에 감사드린다”라며, “지난 21일 파리 국제박람회기구 총회에 참석해 2차 경쟁 PT를 마쳤고, 국제박람회기구 170여 개 회원국 대표를 상대로 면담 등 유치 교섭 활동을 펼쳤다. 콜롬비아의 귀한 지지를 바탕으로 부산은 더욱더 엑스포 유치에 박차를 가할 것”이라고 강조했다.

 

이어 “후안 카를로스 카이자 주한 콜롬비아대사가 수도 보고타를 비롯한 주요 도시와 부산시 간에 교류를 비롯한 우호협력에 관한 업무협약(MOU)을 제안했는데, 이를 바탕으로 부산과 콜롬비아 간의 다양한 교류협력을 적극 확대해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.

  

이에 라미레스 부통령은 “지난해 말 한국 방문을 방문한 적이 있는데, 조선·항만산업과 제4차 산업 분야 협력을 희망하여 그 중심 도시인 부산을 방문했었다. 콜롬비아에서는 최근 15여 년 전부터 조선·항만산업의 개발을 시작하였는데, 콜롬비아 항만도시들과 부산항만공사(BPA)와의 협력도 기대한다”라고 화답했다.

 

또한, 라미레스 부통령은 “지난 부산 방문 이후 이반두케 대통령에게 2030 세계박람회 후보지로서 부산이 최적지임을 얘기했고 부산을 지지할 것을 요청한 바 있다”며, “오늘 부산을 지지하는 내용을 담은 서한문을 주한콜롬비아대사관을 통해 전달할 계획이다. 현재 멕시코가 태평양동맹* 의장국을 역임 중인데, 한국이 차기 태평양동맹 회원국이 되어야 한다고 생각하며, 한국-콜롬비아, 부산-콜롬비아 도시 간 정부·민간기업 간의 협력을 희망한다”라고 전했다.

 

태평양 동맹 (Pacific Alliance)은 2011년 4월 콜롬비아, 칠레, 멕시코, 페루 등 4개국 간 체결자유무역협정에 기초, 역내 경제통합⸱경쟁력 강화⸱아태지역과의 교역확대 를 지향하기 위해 설립됐다.  정회원국은 칠레, 콜롬비아, 멕시코, 페루이며, 준회원국 가입 표명국으로 한국, 에콰도르 등이 있다.

 

박 시장은 “부산과 콜롬비아 간 인재개발과 민관협력이 중요하며, 콜롬비아 도시들과 부산시의 ICT 등 관계자 협력을 통한 역량 강화를 희망한다”며,“ 이달 부산에서 '2022 한-중남미 미래협력포럼'을 외교부와 부산시가 공동으로 개최했고, 이 자리에서 콜롬비아 전국기업연합(ANDI) 안드리아나 렌돈(Adriana Rendón) 전략·개발 부회장님과 양자면담을 통해 물류·교통 등 다양한 분야의 협력에 관해 논의했다”라고 말했다.

 

박 시장은 “앞으로 중남미 국가들과 교류를 확대·지속하고, 부산과 콜롬비아가 활발한 경제협력 등 다양한 분야의 교류와 협력을 기대한다”라고 밝혔다.

마르타 루시아 부통령은 지난해 11월 11일 부산을 방문하여 턴투워드 추모의 날 행사에 참석했고, 당시 박 시장과는 부산-콜롬비아 간 교류 협력에 대해 많은 대화를 나눈 바 있다. 

 

한편, 박 시장은 지난 6월 중남미·아프리카 주한공관장 팸투어, 7월 한-중남미 미래협력포럼에 이어 이번 콜롬비아 부통령과의 화상회의 등 중남미 국가들의 주요 고위급 인사들과 지속적으로 면담을 가지며, 다양한 분야의 교류협력 논의와 함께 2030부산세계박람회 유치 지지를 요청하고 있다.
