[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 제18대 부산의료원 원장에 부산대학교병원 정형외과 김휘택 교수가 오는 5일 자로 임명됐다.

김휘택 신임 원장의 임기는 임명일인 2022년 8월 5일부터 3년이다.

김 원장은 1992년부터 부산대학교병원 정형외과 교수로 재직하며, 누적 1만 명 이상의 선천성 기형 및 난치성 사지 변형환자들을 직접 수술했다. 또한, 국내외 학회에 141편의 임상 및 기초실험논문을 발표하는 등 정형외과 과학연구와 환자 진료에 최선을 다해온 전문의다. 

김 원장은 부산대병원 의학연구소 임상시험센터장과 응급의료실장 등을 역임하며, 부산대병원이 국가지정권역외상센터 건립 인가, 지방 최초 어린이 병원 건립 허가를 받는 데 주도적 역할을 했다.

또, 부산대 의무부총장으로 의생명캠퍼스를 총괄 관리하는 등 공공의료에 대한 깊은 식견과 관리자로서의 역량을 두루 갖추었다는 평이다.
