Air Busan announced on the 1st that it has resumed operations on the Busan-Sapporo route after 2 years and 9 months.

The Busan-Sapporo route resumed its daily round-trip schedule from the 30th. Flights from Gimhae Airport to Sapporo are the first to resume operations since flights were suspended due to COVID-19 in March 2020.

The Busan-Sapporo route departs from Gimhae International Airport at 8:35 am and arrives at Sapporo Chitose Airport at 11 am. The return flight departs from the local airport at 11:55 am and arrives at Gimhae Airport at 2:40 pm.

An official from Air Busan said, "The number of passengers on the flight that day was 162, and the boarding rate was 83%. Recording a compliant load factor despite the long-term suspension of flights seems to reflect the full-fledged resumption of travel to Japan and expectations for a trip to Sapporo,"

The Sapporo route is a popular overseas travel destination in winter, recording an average of more than 10,000 passengers per month every winter season. Air Busan has been continuously expanding its routes to Japan since the end of October in line with the Japanese government's visa-free entry permit and an increase in travelers due to the weak yen.

Currently, the Busan-Fukuoka route operates 3 times a day, and from the 8th, the number of round-trip flights will be increased to 4 times a day. Also, starting on the 9th, the Busan-Narita route will be re-operated with one round trip every day.
