브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 대통령 부부의 공천 개입 의혹을 폭로한 명태균씨가 8일 오전 검찰에 출석했다.

이날 창원지검에 출석한 명씨는 취재진들 앞에서 "국민 여러분께 저의 경솔한 언행으로 제가 민망하고 부끄럽고 죄송하다"며 "검찰 조사에 성실히 임하겠다"고 밝혔다.

그는 '김건희 여사와 어떤 관계인가', '김영선 전 의원 공천에 대통령 내외가 도움을 준 게 맞느냐', '추가 폭로할 생각이 있나' 등 쏟아지는 질문에 "조사 과정 속에 질문이 있을 거라 생각하고 거기에 맞게 성실히 답변하겠다"며 즉답을 피한 채 청사로 들어갔다.

이후 명씨와 함께 온 변호인은 "일부 언론들이 바라는 폭로는 영원히 없고, 폭로할 것도 없으니 기대하시지 말아주시기 바란다"면서 " 강혜경(김영선 전 국민의힘 국회의원의 전 회계책임자)이 본인의 범죄 혐의를 벗기 위해서 숨 쉬는 것 빼고 전부 거짓말을 해서 지금 이 많은 언론인들을 고생시키고 있는 사건"이라고 주장했다.

이어 "강혜경씨가 이미 선관위 조사 때 본인 진술로 밝혀놓은 것들이 있다"면서 "강혜경이 왜 변호인 입회도 못하게 하고 혼자 들어갔을지 생각해 보시면 답이 나온다"고 했다.

변호인은 '대통령 육성까지 나온 상황인데 혐의를 부인하는건가'라는 질문엔 "대통령 육성이 무슨 혐의가 관계가 있다는 것인다. 관계가 전혀 없다"고 일축했다.

그러면서 "명씨가 일반 국민으로서 지역을 사랑하는 마음에서 열심히 일할 국회의원 후보를 추천하는 건 대통령이 아니라 누구에게도 할 수 있는 일이다. 더욱이 권력자도 아니고 아무 직함도 없는 일반 국민(명씨)이 하는 말을 경청하고 귀담아 들어준 대통령과 김건희 여사가 참 훌륭하신 것"이라고도 했다.

변호인은 또한 "우리나라 정치인들은 국민 앞에선 '예예, 제가 다 해결하겠습니다' 말은 하지만 한귀로 듣고 한귀로 흘리는 게 습성화 돼 있지 않느냐"면서 "대통령께서는 일반 국민 말씀까지 귀담아 들으셨다는 점에서 미담으로 봐야지 이게 무슨 공천 의혹이 되느냐"고 했다.

'대선 전 미래연구소 이름으로 나온 보고서와 명태균씨가 아무런 관계도 없느냐'는 질문엔 "불법 여론조사가 아니라 그냥 본인 자체 조사, 본인이 보고 싶어 언제까지 몇 샘플 돌려서 해달라 이런 요청을 한 것일 뿐"이라고 해명했다.
