[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산광역시의회는 20일 오후 세계 각국 도시들의 인구위기 대응 사례를 공유하고 부울경 중심의 지속가능한 발전 전략을 논의하기 위한 '글로벌 도시 인구 전략포럼'을 롯데호텔 부산에서 개최한다.

 

이번 포럼은 부산광역시의회가 주관하고 부산광역시, 경상남도의회, 울산광역시의회가 후원하며, '인구 도전과 글로벌 해법(Population Challenges and Global Solutions)'을 주제로 열린다.

 

국내외 인구 및 도시계획 전문가, 학계·산업계 관계자, 시의원 등 약 120여 명이 참석해 세계 인구감소 및 도시 소멸 위기에 대응하기 위한 정책적 해법을 모색하는 국제적 소통과 협력의 장이 될 전망이다.

 

기조연설: 인구감소 속 지역사회 번영 방안 제시

포럼의 기조연설은 세계적 인구정책 권위자인 제니퍼 D. 스쿠바(Jennifer D. Sciubba) 박사가 맡는다. 스쿠바 박사는 미국의 저명한 인구정책 연구기관인 '인구참조국(Population Reference Bureau, PRB)**의 CEO이자 베스트셀러 '80억 인류, 가보지 않은 미래 (8 Billion and Counting: How Sex, Death, and Migration Shape Our World)'의 저자이다.

부산의 글로벌 협력·브랜드 가치 강화

부산광역시의회는 이번 포럼을 계기로 부산의 인구 도전을 글로벌 아젠다와 연계하고, 국제 협력 네트워크를 확장해 글로벌 도시로서 부산의 브랜드 가치를 한층 높여 나갈 방침이다.
