[브레이크뉴스=김선옥 기자] 부산국제영화제 연계 행사인 ‘2025 아시아프로젝트마켓(Asian Project Market, APM)’이 오는 9월 20일(토)부터 23일(화)까지 나흘간 열리는 가운데, 올해의 공식 선정작 30편을 발표했다.

 

올해 APM에는 44개국에서 총 455편의 프로젝트가 접수되어 역대 최다 출품 기록을 경신했다. 최종 선정된 30편은 15개국에서 출품되었으며, 사회적 불평등, 가족 관계, 성소수자 인권, 젠더, 전쟁과 국경 문제 등 다양한 주제를 다루고 있다. 선정작들은 장르적 다양성과 지역별 경향성을 바탕으로 마켓 참가자들의 관심을 모을 것으로 기대된다.

 

부산국제영화제와 인연 있는 감독들의 신작 포함

올해 선정작 중에는 부산국제영화제와 인연을 맺은 아시아 감독들의 신작이 다수 포함되었다.

 

2019년 지석상 수상자인 인도의 프라디프 쿠르바 감독은 <달>을 선보이며, 올해 모스크바국제영화제에서 작품상과 감독상을 수상한 바 있다.

 

인도 감독 쿤질라 마실라마니의 <그들의 마지막 재앙>은 배우 카니 쿠스루티가 공동 프로듀서로 참여했다. 2023년 뉴 커런츠에 초청됐던 비플랍 사르카 감독의 <마법사들>은 성소수자의 삶과 인권을 주제로 한다. 2024 CHANEL X BIFF 아시아영화아카데미 동문인 리잉통 감독과 애니 송 프로듀서의 <새로운 삶>, 2022년 졸업생 라우 콕 루이 감독의 <울다 지치면 깨워줘>도 함께 선정됐다.

 

여성 감독 및 서아시아·남아시아 작품 약진

서아시아 지역에서는 총 4편의 여성 감독 프로젝트가 선정되었다. 

아르메니아 출신 크리스틴 하루투니안 감독의 <검은 별의 천사>는 ACF 인큐베이팅펀드 지원작으로, 베를린영화제 초청작 <꿈, 그 이후>에 이은 후속작이다.

 

남아시아에서는 6편이 선정되었으며, 그중 3편은 여성 감독의 작품이다.

방글라데시의 미르자 샤브남 페르도시 감독의 <베틀의 침묵>은 역사와 현재를 아우르는 주제를 다룬다.

 

중화권에서는 총 5편이 선정되었고, 이 중 대만 프로젝트 3편은 모두 여성 주인공을 중심으로 사회·역사·젠더 이슈를 다룬다. 일본에서는 청년 세대의 고립과 불안을 조명한 세 편이 이름을 올렸다.

 

한국 신진·중견 감독 7인, 다양한 장르로 참여

한국에서는 총 7편이 선정됐다. 박이웅 감독의 <길동>은 2023년 뉴 커런츠상 수상작 <아침바다 갈매기는>에 이은 작품이다. 조희영 감독의 <물의 도착>, 최하나 감독의 <댄스 댄스 레볼루션>, 김효은 감독의 <내림> 등도 포함되었다. 윤은경 감독의 <고치>, 변성빈 감독의 <빠라디 가라오케>, 윤재호 감독의 <소리없는 외침> 역시 선정되었다. 한국 프로젝트들은 휴먼드라마, 성장서사, 심리 미스터리, 사극, 오컬트 호러 등 다양한 장르를 포함하고 있다.

 

APM 시상식 9월 23일 개최 예정

선정된 프로젝트들은 공식 스폰서가 후원하는 부문별 상 후보에 자동 등록되며, 수상작은 오는 9월 23일(화) 열리는 APM 시상식을 통해 발표된다. 2025 아시아프로젝트마켓은 제20회 아시아콘텐츠&필름마켓 기간 중 벡스코 제2전시장에서 진행된다.

A total of four projects directed by female directors were selected from the West Asia region.

 

Armenian director Christine Harutoonian's <Angel of the Black Star> is a work supported by the ACF Incubating Fund and is the follow-up to <After the Dream>, which was invited to the Berlin Film Festival.

 

Six films were selected from South Asia, three of which are by female directors.

 

<The Silence of Battle> by Bangladeshi director Mirza Shabnam Ferdosi deals with themes that encompass history and the present.

 

A total of five films were selected from the Greater China region, of which three Taiwanese projects all focus on social, historical, and gender issues with female protagonists. Three films from Japan highlighted the isolation and anxiety of the youth generation.

 

Seven new and veteran Korean directors participated in various genres

 

A total of seven films were selected from Korea. <Gildong> by Park Yi-woong is the follow-up to <Seagulls in the Morning Sea>, which won the 2023 New Currents Award. Director Jo Hee-young's <Arrival of Water>, Director Choi Ha-na's <Dance Dance Revolution>, and Director Kim Hyo-eun's <Naerim> were also included. Director Yoon Eun-kyung's <Gochi>, Director Byun Sung-bin's <Paradise Karaoke>, and Director Yoon Jae-ho's <Silent Cry> were also selected. APM Awards Ceremony Scheduled for September 23

 

The selected projects will be automatically registered as nominees for awards in each category sponsored by the official sponsor, and the winners will be announced at the APM Awards Ceremony held on September 23 (Tue). The 2025 Asia Project Market will be held at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 2 during the 20th Asia Contents & Film Market.
