[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산광역시가 15일 서울 롯데호텔에서 열린 「연합뉴스TV 제13회 경제포럼」의 부대행사로 진행된 ‘제1회 리부팅 지방시대 대상’ 시상식에서 광역지방자치단체 가운데 최초로 ‘산업·일자리창출’ 부문 대상을 수상했다.

‘리부팅 지방시대 대상’은 올해 신설된 시상으로, ▲지방 행정 혁신 ▲산업·일자리 창출 ▲청년·가족 정착 ▲지방문화 활력 ▲특별상 등 5개 부문에서 각 지방자치단체의 성과를 평가해 수상자를 선정했다.

올해 경제포럼은 ‘대한민국 경제, 지방에서 길을 찾다’를 주제로 열렸으며, 행사에는 박형준 부산시장, 안수훈 연합뉴스TV 대표이사 사장, 윤호중 행정안전부 장관, 김영록 전라남도지사 등 중앙부처 및 지방정부 관계자, 정·관계 인사 등 약 250명이 참석했다.

부산시는 물류, 금융, 디지털 첨단산업 등을 중심으로 한 혁신 성장 전략을 통해 산업 및 일자리 분야에서 성과를 거둔 점이 수상의 배경이 됐다. 시는 민선 8기 출범 이후 3년간 약 14조 원 규모의 투자 유치를 달성했으며, 청년 고용률이 역대 최고치를 기록하고 상용근로자 수가 처음으로 100만 명을 돌파하는 등의 고용 성과도 나타났다.

주요 성과로는 ▲가덕도 신공항 건설 추진을 통한 트라이포트 물류 기반 구축 ▲인공지능(AI), 양자기술 등 첨단산업 및 금융산업 고도화 ▲글로벌 스마트 센터 지수 아시아 2위 ▲아시아 내 살기 좋은 도시 6위 선정 ▲해외 관광객 200만 명 유치 등도 포함됐다.

포럼에서는 이준승 부산시 행정부시장이 기조연설을 통해 부산의 주요 성과를 소개하고, 향후 ‘글로벌 해양 허브도시’로의 도약을 위한 비전과 전략을 발표했다. 부산시는 향후 디지털·해양 금융을 비롯한 지역 특화산업의 경쟁력을 강화하고, 전력반도체, 미래 모빌리티 등 첨단 신산업의 성장을 통해 글로벌 혁신 거점 도시로의 도약을 목표로 하고 있다.

박형준 부산시장은 “이번 수상은 그간 추진한 노력의 성과를 공식적으로 인정받은 것”이라며, “앞으로도 부산이 대한민국 균형발전의 성장거점이자 해양경제를 선도하는 글로벌 해양 허브도시로 도약할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Busan Metropolitan City announced that it has received the grand prize in the ‘Industry and Job Creation’ category at the 1st Rebooting Regional Era Awards, held as part of the 13th Yonhap News TV Economic Forum at Lotte Hotel Seoul on September 15. Busan is the first among metropolitan governments to receive this award.

The Rebooting Regional Era Awards, newly established this year, recognize outstanding achievements of local governments in five categories: ▲Administrative Innovation ▲Industry and Job Creation ▲Youth and Family Settlement ▲Revitalization of Local Culture ▲Special Awards.

This year’s economic forum was held under the theme “Korean Economy: Finding the Way from the Regions,” and was attended by about 250 key figures from central government agencies, local governments, and related sectors, including Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon, Yonhap News TV CEO Ahn Soo-hoon, Minister of the Interior and Safety Yoon Ho-joong, and South Jeolla Province Governor Kim Yung-rok.

Busan was recognized for its remarkable achievements in the fields of industry and employment through innovation-driven growth strategies that leverage regional strengths in logistics, finance, and digital high-tech industries. Since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, the city has attracted approximately KRW 14 trillion in investments over three years. It also recorded the highest youth employment rate in its history and surpassed one million salaried workers for the first time.

Key achievements include: ▲Driving the construction of the Gadeokdo New Airport to solidify a tri-port logistics foundation combining land, sea, and air ▲Advancing high-tech industries such as artificial intelligence and quantum technologies, along with the financial sector ▲Ranking 2nd in Asia in the Global Smart Center Index ▲Ranking 6th among most livable cities in Asia ▲Achieving 2 million overseas tourists in the shortest period on record

During the forum, Busan Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs Lee Joon-seung delivered a keynote speech highlighting Busan’s major accomplishments as a “Global Hub City” and presenting its vision and strategies for evolving into a “Global Maritime Hub City.”

With this award, the city plans to further strengthen the competitiveness of specialized industries such as ▲digital and maritime finance and lead the growth of advanced industries such as ▲power semiconductors and future mobility. Busan aims to become a global innovation hub city that attracts businesses, talent, and capital.

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “This award is an official recognition of our efforts to transform Busan into a global hub city,” and added, “We will continue our efforts to ensure Busan becomes a key driver of balanced national development and a leading global maritime hub city.”
