[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 2025 새마을 사랑의 김장 나누기' 행사가 5일 오전 9시 시청 녹음광장에서 개최됐다.

이번 행사는 새마을금고중앙회와 부산 새마을금고가 공동 주최하고, 부산시 새마을회가 주관하며, 지역사회 내 어려운 이웃에게 따뜻한 사랑을 전하기 위해 마련되었다. 행사 재원은 새마을금고중앙회와 부산 새마을금고가 부담하며, 모든 김장 재료는 우리 농산물만 사용했다.

박형준 시장과 백옥자 부산시새마을회 회장, 박수용 새마을금고중앙회 이사 등이 김장하기 활동에 참여하고 봉사자들을 격려했다. 부산시 새마을지도자 100여 명, 부산새마을금고 봉사단 30여 명 등 총 130여 명이 참여해 배추 4천 포기 분량의 김장김치를 담갔으며, 완성된 김치는 부산시 16개 구·군 새마을부녀회를 통해 독거노인, 소년소녀가정, 저소득가정 등 지역 내 어려운 이웃에게 직접 전달된다.

또한, 부산시새마을회는 평소 환경정화, 재난복구, 이웃돕기 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 활발히 전개하고 있으며, 새마을금고중앙회와 부산 새마을금고도 서민금융 지원뿐만 아니라 지역 경제 활성화와 사회적 약자 지원 등 지역공동체 발전에 기여하고 있다.

백옥자 부산시새마을회장은 “이번 행사를 통해 지역사회의 연대와 상생의 가치를 되새기고, 앞으로도 다양한 나눔으로 사회공헌을 실천하겠다”라고 말했다.

박형준 시장은 “오늘 함께 버무린 따뜻한 마음이 어려운 우리 이웃들에게 전해질 때 '역시 부산을 살기 좋다'라고 느끼리라 믿는다”라며, “모든 시민이 다시 태어나도 살고 싶은 공동체를 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다”라고 전했다

2025 Saemaul Love Kimchi Sharing event at the City Hall Green Plaza Jointly hosted by the Korea Saemaul Geumgo Central Association and Busan Saemaul Geumgo, and organized by the Busan Saemaul Association, the event aimed to spread warmth and care to vulnerable members of the local community.

Funded by the Korea Saemaul Geumgo Central Association and Busan Saemaul Geumgo, the event used only domestically grown agricultural products for making kimchi. Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon, Saemaul Association Chairperson Baek Ok-ja, and Korea Saemaul Geumgo Director Park Soo-yong personally participated in the kimchi-making activities and encouraged the volunteers.

A total of around 130 participants, including approximately 100 Saemaul leaders and 30 volunteers from Busan Saemaul Geumgo, prepared kimchi using 4,000 heads of napa cabbage. The finished kimchi will be distributed through Saemaul Women's Associations in Busan's 16 districts to elderly living alone, children in foster care, low-income families, and other local neighbors in need.

In addition to this event, the Busan Saemaul Association actively conducts social contribution activities year-round, such as environmental cleanup, disaster recovery, and neighborly support. The Korea Saemaul Geumgo Central Association and Busan Saemaul Geumgo also contribute to community development through support for grassroots finance, local economic revitalization, and aid for vulnerable groups.

Chairperson Baek Ok-ja stated, "This event reminds us of the value of solidarity and coexistence in our community, and we will continue to practice social contribution through various forms of sharing."

Mayor Park Heong-joon added, "I believe that the warm hearts mixed together today will be felt by our neighbors in need, reinforcing the pride that Busan is a great place to live. We will do our best to build a community where all citizens want to live again."
