[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산광역시교육청은 19~ 21일까지 울산전시컨벤션센터에서 열리는 ‘2025 대한민국 지방시대 엑스포’에 참가해 ‘부산교육청 전시관’을 운영한다.

‘K-BALANCE(균형 잡힌 발전)’를 주제로 열리는 이번 엑스포는 지방시대위원회 주최로 자치분권과 지역 혁신 사례를 한자리에서 소개하는 국내 최대 규모의 정책 박람회다. 시·도교육청과 지방자치단체, 교육부가 함께 참여해 지방시대 정책 비전을 공유한다.  

부산교육청은 ‘부산교육, 미래를 담다’를 주제로 ▲SW·AI교육거점센터와 부산수학문화관 등 폐교 재산을 활용한 미래교육 기반 조성 ▲AI·디지털교육과 민주시민교육을 통한 인재 육성 ▲기초학력 지원을 통한 교육격차 해소 ▲‘부산의 재발견’, ‘부산의 활동수학’ 등 지역화 교과서 전시 등 4개 분야의 정책과 성과를 선보인다. 전시관은 ‘교육의 빛이 지역으로 확산된다’는 콘셉트로 꾸며져, 부산교육의 정책 방향과 현장 성과를 한눈에 볼 수 있다.  

또한 오목로봇 대결, 큐브 로봇 체험, 부산사투리 퀴즈, 부산교육청 캐릭터 ‘션’과 함께하는 SNS 챌린지 등 시민 참여 프로그램도 마련돼 관람객의 흥미를 높일 예정이다.  

김석준 교육감은 “이번 엑스포는 5년 연속 시·도교육청 평가 전 지표 올패스를 달성하고, 교육발전특구 평가에서 최고등급(A)을 받은 부산교육의 성과를 알리는 자리”라며 “지역과 함께 성장하는 교육정책으로 미래 인재를 육성하고, 정주 여건 조성에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.  

[Below is the full English news article] Busan Education Office to Showcase Future-Oriented Policies at Local Era Expo

The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seok-jun) announced on Tuesday that it will operate an exhibition booth at the “2025 Korea Local Era Expo,” which runs from November 19 to 21 at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center.  

Under the theme “K-BALANCE,” the event is hosted by the Presidential Committee for the Local Era and brings together central and local governments, education offices, and related organizations to share visions and achievements in decentralization and balanced regional growth. It is the largest policy expo of its kind in Korea.  

Busan’s booth, presented under the slogan “Embracing the Future of Busan Education,” features four major initiatives: the redevelopment of closed school sites into future learning hubs such as the SW·AI Education Center and the Busan Mathematics and Culture Center; AI and digital education combined with democratic citizenship education to strengthen student competencies; basic learning support programs to reduce educational disparities; and exhibits on localized textbooks including “Rediscovering Busan” and “Active Mathematics of Busan.” The display is designed around the concept of “Spreading the Light of Education Throughout the Region.”  

To engage visitors, the booth will also offer interactive programs such as a board game challenge against an AI robot, a cube robot experience, a Busan dialect quiz, and social media activities with the Busan Office of Education’s mascot, Seon.  

Superintendent Kim said, “This expo provides an opportunity to share the achievements of Busan’s education system, which has maintained a top-tier rating for five consecutive years in national assessments and earned the highest grade in the Special Educational Development Zone evaluation. We will continue to pursue education policies that nurture local talent and foster sustainable regional growth.”
