[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산광역시의회는 18일 오후 ‘지역산업 맞춤형 글로벌 공학인재 육성을 위한 공동선언식’을 동아대학교 승학캠퍼스 대회의실에서 열고, 지역 대학과 산업계가 연계된 인재양성 체계를 구축하기로 뜻을 모았다. 

이번 선언은 지역 산업의 국제 경쟁력 강화를 위해 외국인 공학 인재가 지역에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있는 기반을 조성하자는 취지에서 마련됐다.  

시의회에 따르면 이번 행사는 동아대학교가 공과대학 내 외국인학생 전담학부 신설을 추진하면서 제안한 자리로, 지역산업 수요에 대응할 전문 인재 양성의 필요성에 공감한 시의회와 부산상공회의소가 참여했다.  

이날 선언식에는 안성민 부산시의회 의장을 비롯해 지역경제활성화 특별위원회 김창석 위원장(사상구2), 정태숙 부위원장(남구2), 문영미(비례대표), 박희용(부산진구1), 서국보(동래구3) 의원과 이해우 동아대 총장, 양재생 부산상공회의소 회장 등 관계자들이 참석했다.  

세 기관은 △지역산업 맞춤형 인재 양성을 위한 공동 지원체계 구축 △외국인 인재의 지역기업 정착 지원 △산업의 국제화 및 경쟁력 제고를 위한 취업연계 활동 강화에 협력하기로 합의했다.  

김창석 위원장은 “사람이 지역경쟁력의 출발점”이라며 “대학과 산업계가 함께 만드는 맞춤형 공학인재 양성이 체감 가능한 지역경제 회복으로 이어지도록 산·학·정이 함께 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.  

안성민 의장도 “이번 공동선언을 계기로 부산의 글로벌 인재양성 체계가 한 단계 도약하길 기대한다”며 “시의회는 균형 있고 개방적인 지원 원칙에 따라 대학과 산업계의 협력을 폭넓게 뒷받침하겠다”고 말했다.  

지역경제활성화특별위원회는 이번 선언식을 계기로 향후 지역 대학 및 경제계 전반과의 협력 네트워크를 강화해, 산업 수요에 부합하는 인재 육성 사업을 지속적으로 추진한다는 방침이다.

The Busan Metropolitan Council announced that it held a joint declaration ceremony on November 18 at the main conference hall of Dong-A University’s Seunghak Campus to promote the development of global engineering talent tailored to regional industry needs. The event marked a new cooperative step among the city council, academia, and the business community to strengthen the region’s competitiveness through talent cultivation and industry engagement.  

According to the council, the ceremony was proposed by Dong-A University following its plan to establish a new department dedicated to foreign engineering students. Recognizing the importance of building a workforce development system aligned with local industrial demand, the Busan City Council and the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry decided to join in cooperation.  

The declaration ceremony brought together Busan City Council Chairperson Ahn Seong-min, Kim Chang-seok, Chair of the Special Committee for Regional Economic Revitalization (Sasang District 2), Vice Chair Jeong Tae-suk (Nam District 2), committee members Moon Young-mi (Proportional Representative), Park Hee-yong (Busanjin District 1), and Seo Guk-bo (Dongnae District 3), along with Dong-A University President Lee Hae-woo and Busan Chamber Chairman Yang Jae-saeng.  

Under the joint declaration, the three organizations agreed to collaborate on building a cooperative system for nurturing industry-specific talent, supporting the settlement of foreign professionals in local firms, and promoting employment programs to enhance industrial globalization and competitiveness.  

Committee Chair Kim Chang-seok said, “People are the starting point of regional competitiveness. The city council, universities, and industries will work hand in hand to ensure that customized engineering education leads to tangible economic recovery.”  

Council Chairperson Ahn Seong-min added, “This joint declaration will serve as a milestone for Busan’s global talent development. The city council will continue to support broad-based cooperation between universities and industries under a balanced and open support policy.”  

The Special Committee for Regional Economic Revitalization plans to use this declaration as a springboard to expand cooperation with local universities and the business sector, reinforcing programs that train talent tailored to the needs of regional industries.
