[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 수영구는 지난 12월 1∼2일 충남 부여군에서 열린 ‘제19회 피나클 어워즈 한국대회’에서 광안리어방축제가 접근성 프로그램 부문 금상, 친환경 프로그램(ESG) 부문 은상, 대표 프로그램 부문 동상을 받았다고 밝혔다.  

세계축제협회 한국지부가 주관하는 이 대회는 국내 우수 축제를 발굴·시상하는 ‘축제 올림픽’으로 불린다. 광안리어방축제는 매년 봄 광안리해수욕장에서 전통 어촌마을을 재현하며 관광객에게 체험과 공연을 제공하는 인기 행사다.  

올해는 시각장애인 점자 안내책자, 휠체어 통행로·관람석, 수어통역, 수유실 등 접근성 강화가 돋보였고, 다회용기 도입과 ESG 프로그램 운영, 경상좌수사행렬 퍼레이드·뮤지컬 어방 등 독창적 콘텐츠로 높은 평가를 받았다.

수영구는 앞서 9월 미국 ‘제70회 IFEA 월드 피나클어워즈’에서 베스트 신문삽지·홍보책자 금상, 친환경 프로그램 동상을 수상하며 국제적 위상을 입증했다. 강성태 구청장은 “연이은 수상으로 축제 경쟁력을 확인했다”며 “세계를 대표하는 축제로 키우겠다”고 말했다.

-Gold in Accessibility, Silver in ESG, Bronze in Signature Program

Busan Suyeong-gu (District Head Kang Seong-tae) announced on Dec. 3 that the 광안리어방축제 (Gwangalli Eobang Festival) received gold in the accessibility program category, silver in the eco-friendly (ESG) program category, and bronze in the signature program category at the 19th Pinnacle Awards Korea held in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, from Dec. 1-2.

Organized by the Korea branch of the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA), the Pinnacle Awards Korea is known as the "Festival Olympics," recognizing top domestic festivals for excellence and competitiveness.

Held annually in spring along Gwangalli Beach, the festival recreates a traditional fishing village, offering visitors thrilling experiences and entertainment. This year, it earned high praise for enhanced accessibility features, including Braille guidebooks for the visually impaired, wheelchair pathways and seating at the main stage, sign language interpretation for key events, and nursing rooms.

The event also introduced reusable containers across the venue and ran various ESG programs, while standout signature elements like the Gyeongsang Left Headquarters Procession Parade and the musical "Eobang" showcased unique creativity.

Suyeong-gu previously won gold for best newspaper insert and best promotional booklet, plus bronze for eco-friendly program, at the 70th IFEA World Pinnacle Awards in the U.S. in September. Kang Seong-tae stated, "These consecutive wins confirm the festival's competitiveness, and we will develop it into a world-class event representing Korea and beyond."
