부산 북구의 학생들에게 꿈과 희망을 심어주고, 학부모 눈높이에 맞춰 다양한 정보를 제공하기 위한 대입 전략 특강이 마련된다..

국민의힘 박성훈 의원(부산 북구을)은 오는 17일 오후 2시 부산 화명고등학교에서 손주은 메가스터디그룹 회장을 초청해 ‘대입 성공 전략 특강’을 개최한다고 밝혔다. 지역 학생과 학부모 등 250여 명이 참석할 예정이다.

이번 행사는 박 의원이 당선 이후 추진해 온 ‘희망 드림(Dream) 콘서트’의 일환으로, 지난해 7월 하버드대와 MIT 출신 이상현 구글 플랫폼·디바이스 글로벌 정책 총괄 초청 강연에 이은 두 번째 행사다.

손주은 회장은 1980년대 학원 강사로 출발해 1990년대 후반 케이블TV 강의를 통해 온라인 교육의 가능성을 개척했으며, 이후 국내 최초의 온라인 교육 플랫폼을 상용화해 메가스터디를 성장시킨 인물이다. 이번 특강에서는 변화하는 입시 환경 속에서 필요한 핵심 역량과 수험생의 마인드셋, 진로 설계에 대한 경험과 통찰을 공유할 예정이다.

박성훈 의원은 서울대와 하버드 케네디스쿨을 졸업하고 기획재정부 국장, 세계은행 선임전문가, 부산시 경제부시장, 대통령실 비서관 등을 역임한 바 있다. 박 의원은 입시 정보와 멘토링 기회가 상대적으로 부족한 지역 청소년들에게 명문대 출신 선배들의 경험을 전달하기 위해 해당 콘서트를 기획했다.

박 의원은 “교육열이 높은 북구의 학생과 학부모에게 실질적인 정보를 제공하고 싶었다”며 “아이들이 지역적 한계를 넘어 더 넓은 세상을 꿈꿀 수 있도록 희망의 사다리를 놓겠다”고 말했다. 이어 “앞으로도 수준 높은 교육 강연과 멘토링 프로그램을 지속적으로 마련해 북구를 명품 교육 도시로 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

A special college admissions strategy lecture for students and parents will be held in Busan’s Buk-gu District later this week.

Rep. Park Sung-hoon of the People Power Party (Busan Buk-gu B) announced that Son Ju-eun, chairman of MegaStudy Group, will give a special lecture on successful college entrance strategies at Hwamyeong High School on the afternoon of the 17th. About 250 local students and parents are expected to attend.

The event is part of Rep. Park’s “Hope Dream Concert” series, an educational mentoring program designed to provide students in Buk-gu with access to high-level academic guidance and role models. It follows a lecture held in July 2024 by Lee Sang-hyun, Google’s Global Head of Policy for Platforms and Devices and an alumnus of Harvard University and MIT.

Son, often referred to as a pioneer of South Korea’s private education industry, began his career as a private academy instructor in the 1980s. In the late 1990s, he recognized the potential of televised and online lectures and later founded MegaStudy, the country’s first large-scale online education platform.

During the lecture, Son will share insights drawn from decades of experience in education, focusing on essential competencies for students navigating today’s rapidly changing admissions environment, effective study mindsets, and long-term academic and career planning.

Rep. Park, a graduate of Seoul National University and Harvard Kennedy School, has previously served as a senior official at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, a senior expert at the World Bank, Busan’s vice mayor for economic affairs, and a presidential secretary.

“Many students in Buk-gu lack access to detailed admissions information and mentoring opportunities,” Park said. “Through the Hope Dream Concert series, we aim to help our children look beyond regional limitations and dream bigger.”

He added that the program will continue, with plans to invite more distinguished speakers from top universities and global institutions to help position Buk-gu as a leading education-focused district.
