[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 제14회 부산국제코미디페스티벌(BICF)이 오는 8월 21일부터 8월 30일까지 부산 전역에서 개최된다. 이번 페스티벌은 코미디의 역사와 현재를 잇는 다채로운 기획을 선보이며 관객들에게 풍성한 즐거움을 선사한다.

레전드들의 귀환: 코미디의 역사와 의미를 담은 특별 기획

이번 부코페를 관통하는 핵심 키워드는 '레전드들의 귀환'으로, 대한민국 코미디의 어제와 오늘을 한자리에서 만날 수 있다. 최장수 개그 프로그램 '개그콘서트' 공연을 비롯해 박준형, 심현섭, 박성호, 임혁필, 박영진, 김지혜 등 황금기를 이끈 주역들이 '갈갈이 개그콘서트 : 레전드의 귀환'으로 추억을 소환한다. 또한 구봉서 탄생 100주년을 기념하는 '김학래·이용식 대환장 토크쇼'와 전유성의 코미디 정신을 기리는 '전유성 없는 전유성 쇼'가 코미디의 예술적 가치와 역사성을 유쾌하게 조명한다.

장르와 국경의 초월: 국내외를 아우르는 다채로운 공연 라인업

장르와 국경을 뛰어넘는 풍성한 공연과 관객 친화적인 프로그램도 눈길을 끈다. 스탠드업, 만담, 콩트, 넌버벌, 음악 코미디, 토크쇼 등으로 장르 범주를 넓혀 관객의 취향을 저격한다. 아울러 '마임 드 리옹', '더블' 등 국내에서 접하기 힘든 해외 공연을 통해 글로벌 코미디의 정수를 보여준다. 특히 FISM 세계 마술 챔피언 노베르 페레와 코미디 마술사 김민형이 호흡을 맞추는 '더블'은 국내 인기 브랜드와 어우러진 K-코미디의 경쟁력을 입증할 예정이다.

아시아 코미디 허브 도약: 축제를 넘어 산업 기반 구축으로

아시아 최초의 국제 코미디페스티벌인 부코페는 이번 행사를 통해 아시아 코미디 허브 도약을 위한 기반을 마련한다. 2024년부터 지역 대학과 연계한 코미디 인재 양성 사업을 추진하고 있으며, 향후 코미디 전용 극장 조성과 창작·교육·제작이 연계되는 기반 구축을 목표로 한다. 부산을 중심으로 콘텐츠 제작 및 유통 환경을 조성해 축제를 넘어 K-COMEDY 산업의 경쟁력을 높여나갈 방침이다.

Alongside performances from the long-running comedy program 'Gag Concert,' key figures who led its golden age—including Park Joon-hyung, Shim Hyun-seop, Park Sung-ho, Im Hyuk-pil, Park Young-jin, and Kim Ji-hye—will summon nostalgic memories through 'Galgali Gag Concert: Return of the Legends.' In addition, the 'Kim Hak-rae and Lee Yong-sik Wild Talk Show' commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of comedy master Koo Bong-seo, and the 'Jeon Yu-seong-less Jeon Yu-seong Show' honoring Jeon Yu-seong's creative comedy spirit, will delightfully highlight the artistic value and historical significance of comedy.

Crossing Genres and Borders: A Diverse Performance Lineup Spanning Domestic and International Stages

Rich performance lineups and audience-friendly programs that transcend genres and national borders also capture attention. The festival has broadened its genre categories to include stand-up, mandam (comic dialogue), sketch comedy, non-verbal comedy, musical comedy, and talk shows, allowing audiences to choose performances tailored to their tastes. Furthermore, overseas performances rarely seen domestically, such as 'Mime de Rien' and 'Double,' showcase the essence of global comedy. In particular, 'Double,' featuring a collaboration between FISM World Magic Champion Norbert Ferré and Korean comedy magician Kim Min-hyung, is set to demonstrate the competitiveness of K-comedy blended with popular domestic comedy brands.

Leaping Forward as an Asian Comedy Hub: Building Industrial Foundations Beyond a Festival

As Asia's first international comedy festival, BICF is laying the foundation to leap forward as an Asian comedy hub through this event. Since 2024, it has been promoting a comedy talent incubation project linked with local universities, aiming to build a comedy infrastructure where creation, education, and production are connected through the future establishment of a dedicated comedy theater. By creating an environment where comedy content production and distribution are possible centered around Busan, the festival plans to elevate the competitiveness of the K-comedy industry beyond just a festive event.
