아울러 “대장동 불법이익 환수를 내팽개친 대통령이 70년 전 친일재산 환수를 끄집어냈다”며 “일본의 과거사 왜곡이나 독도 교과서 문제 등 현안에는 침묵한 채 선동용 구호만 되풀이했다”고 목소리를 높였다.

한편, 장동혁 당 대표는 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령의 한미연합군사훈련 축소 지시 소식에 대해 이재명 정부의 외교·안보 정책이 자초한 결과라고 강력히 비판했다. 장 대표는 “’취소하기에 너무 늦어 대폭 축소한다’는 발표로 연합훈련이 아예 사라질 판”이라며 “결국 이재명 대통령이 바라던 대로 됐는지 묻고 싶다”고 비꼬았다. 

 

그는 외교 참사의 원인으로 통일부·국방부 장관의 군사기밀 유출 논란과 대미 투자 약속 미이행, 통상교섭본부장의 전격 경질 등을 거론했다. 장 대표는 “동맹국 대통령에게 북한의 독재자보다도 신뢰를 얻지 못하는 참담한 현실”이라며 “대한민국의 경제와 안보가 한꺼번에 위태로워진 상황에서 이재명 대통령은 어떤 대책을 가지고 있는지 밝혀야 한다”고 촉구했다.

박 수석대변인은 “지금 국민이 체감하는 현실은 꺾일 줄 모르는 고물가와 극심한 경기 침체, 일자리 불안이라는 삼중고에 무능한 정책이 초래한 집값 폭등까지 더해진 참담함 그 자체”라며, “국정 최고 책임자인 대통령은 절박한 민생 현안을 해결할 청사진 없이 '대체 불가 대한민국'이라는 실체 없는 구호만 외치고 있다”고 비판했다. 

이어 “거대 여당의 입법 독주와 야당 무시로 정치적 대립을 극한으로 몰아붙인 당사자가 경축사 단상에서 '타협과 공존의 정치'를 운운하는 것은 유체이탈이자 국민 기만”이라고 강조했다. 그러면서 그는 “불과 며칠 전 북한이 탄도미사일 도발을 감행했음에도 단호한 경고나 실효적 억제책 없이 '오래된 전쟁을 끝내기 위한 당사자 간 논의'라는 안이한 인식만 드러냈다”며 “확실한 힘이 담보되지 않은 일방적 평화 구호는 국가와 국민의 안전을 상대의 선의에 방치하는 '안보 자해'나 다름없다”고 꼬집었다.

이어 “집값은 잡지 못하고 대출은 옥죄며 세금 부담만 늘려 그 여파가 무주택 서민에게 돌아가는 악순환이 반복되고 있다”며 “잘못된 부동산 정책이 임기 1년을 갓 넘긴 이 대통령의 국정 동력마저 갉아먹으며 조기 레임덕을 스스로 재촉하고 있다”고 경고했다. 

그러면서 그는 “이념으로 시장을 이길 수 있다는 착각, 규제와 세금을 더하면 집값이 잡힐 것이라는 착각에서 즉시 깨어나야 한다”며 “김 후보가 당대표가 되면 당청 관계가 마냥 순탄할 것이라는 생각 역시 청와대의 착각임이 드러났다”고 꼬집었다. 아울러 “고집을 정책이라고 우기고 실패를 포장한다고 해서 무너진 시장의 신뢰가 돌아오지 않는다”라며, “부동산으로 들끓는 국민의 분노가 이미 임계점을 향하고 있음을 명심하라”고 목소리를 높였다.

조용술 대변인은 안규백 국방부 장관이 사관학교 통합을 둘러싸고 입장을 번복하며 오락가락하는 이중 정치를 펼치고 있다고 지적했다. 

조 대변인은 “안 장관이 지난 12일 육·해·공군 사관학교 총동창회장단과의 면담 자리에서는 현 체제 유지 가능성을 내비쳐 회유하더니, 14일 언론 앞에서는 이를 뒤집고 '묻지 마 통합'을 선언했다”라며, “뒤에서는 논란을 잠재우려 여지를 남기고 마이크만 잡으면 일방적으로 밀어붙이는 태도는 전형적인 이중 정치”라고 비판했다. 

이어 “사관학교 통합은 수십 년간 이어진 각 군의 교육체계와 정체성이 걸린 중대한 국방개혁”이라며, “이재명 대통령의 '쿠데타 중심에 선 육사' 발언에 이은 안 장관의 막무가내식 추진은 군을 바라보는 비뚤어진 인식에서 비롯된 것”이라고 경고했다. 

그러면서 그는 “사관학교 공청회가 다가오는 만큼 정권이 일방적으로 밀어붙일 것이 아니라 국민과 군 전문가의 의견부터 경청해야 한다”며 “국방은 정치가 아니라는 점을 분명히 깨달아야 한다”고 꼬집었다. 아울러 “국민과 군 구성원 앞에서 일관된 원칙을 제시해야 한다”라며, “잘못된 정책 방향을 즉각 재검토하라”고 촉구했다.

 

 최은석 원내수석대변인(청년 고용 및 임금일자리 감소 비판)

최은석 원내수석대변인은 코로나19 이후 처음으로 임금근로자가 4개월 연속 감소하며 '채용절벽 사회'로 가고 있음에도 이재명 정부가 안일한 무대책으로 일관하고 있다고 지적했다.

최 원내수석대변인은 “전체 취업자 증가는 자영업자 등 비임금근로자에 의존한 것일 뿐, 전문·과학·기술 서비스업과 도소매·건설업 등 양질의 임금일자리가 크게 줄었다”며, “청년층 취업자가 45개월 연속 감소하고 고용률이 27개월 연속 하락하는 심각한 상황”이라고 비판했다. 이어 “정부는 고용 악화를 중동전쟁 등 외부 변수 탓으로만 돌리고 있으며, 준비한다던 '청년 일자리 회복방안'마저 발표 직전 다시 보완에 들어가는 등 여전히 준비 중 타령만 하고 있다”고 경고했다. 

그러면서 그는 “AI 확산과 자동화, 경력직 선호 등으로 경제 구조가 '사람을 덜 뽑는 구조'로 변화하는 현실을 직시해야 한다”며 “낙관적인 경기 전망에 기대어 구조적 위기를 방치해서는 안 된다”고 꼬집었다. 아울러 “기업의 신규채용과 투자를 가로막는 규제를 덜어내야 한다”라며, “성장산업으로의 이동을 위한 재교육 체계 마련과 종합적인 청년 고용 대응 전략을 속도감 있게 추진하라”고 촉구했다.

박성훈 수석대변인은 더불어민주당 신임 당대표로 김민석 전 국무총리가 선출된 것에 대해 축하를 전하면서도, '이재명 방탄'에서 벗어나 '국민을 위한 책임 있는 여당'으로 거듭나야 한다고 요구했다.

박 수석대변인은 “상반기 국회에서 민주당이 압도적 의석수로 입법 독주를 반복한 데 이어, 이번 전당대회를 통해 이재명 대통령과 여당이 한 몸처럼 움직이는 일극 체제가 더욱 공고해졌다”며, “이 대통령이 반도체 산업마저 정치적 전리품으로 활용하며 전당대회에 노골적으로 개입했다는 비판을 자초했다”고 비판했다. 

이어 “김 대표가 검찰 보완수사권 완전 폐지를 주장하고 대통령의 재판 재개를 '폭력'으로 규정한 것은 삼권분립이라는 헌법적 가치를 흔드는 행위”라며, “대통령의 사법 리스크를 지키는 아바타를 자처한다는 점에서 우려가 크다”고 강조했다.

Furthermore, he raised his voice, stating, “The President, who abandoned the recovery of illegal profits from Daejang-dong, has brought up the recovery of pro-Japanese assets from 70 years ago,” and added, “He merely repeated slogans for incitement while remaining silent on pending issues such as Japan’s distortion of history and the Dokdo textbook controversy.”

Meanwhile, Party Leader Jang Dong-hyuk strongly criticized the news of U.S. President Donald Trump’s order to reduce ROK-U.S. joint military exercises, stating that it was a result brought about by the Lee Jae-myung administration’s foreign and security policies. Representative Jang sarcastically remarked, “With the announcement that it is ‘too late to cancel and will drastically reduce’ the exercises, the joint exercises are on the verge of disappearing entirely,” and asked, “I want to ask if things ultimately turned out exactly as President Lee Jae-myung had hoped.”

Senior Spokesperson Park Sung-hoon pointed out that President Lee Jae-myung's Liberation Day address was nothing more than a "speechless speech," lacking any painful reflection or solutions to the current reality befitting the highest official responsible for the nation. Chief Spokesperson Park criticized, “The reality currently felt by the people is the very definition of despondency, compounded by a triple burden of unyielding high inflation, severe economic recession, and job insecurity, all compounded by skyrocketing housing prices caused by incompetent policies.” He added, “The President, as the highest authority responsible for state affairs, is merely shouting the empty slogan of an ‘irreplaceable Republic of Korea’ without a blueprint to resolve urgent livelihood issues.”

 

He further emphasized, “It is a detachment from reality and a deception of the people for the very person responsible for pushing political confrontation to the extreme through the massive ruling party’s legislative unilateralism and disregard for the opposition to speak of ‘politics of compromise and coexistence’ from the podium of a celebratory speech.” He went on to criticize, stating, “Despite North Korea carrying out a ballistic missile provocation just a few days ago, the administration revealed only a complacent attitude of ‘discussions between the parties to end an old war,’ without issuing a firm warning or implementing effective deterrence measures.” He pointed out, “Unilateral peace slogans not guaranteed by concrete strength are tantamount to ‘security self-harm,’ leaving the safety of the nation and its people at the mercy of the other side’s goodwill.”

 

Furthermore, he urged, “Incompetence in state affairs and security instability can never be concealed by flashy rhetoric,” adding, “The Lee Jae-myung administration must immediately cease its irresponsible politics of slogans and reclaim its solemn responsibility for state affairs to safeguard national security and provide practical solutions to revive the oppressed livelihoods of the people.”

Chief Floor Spokesperson Choi Eun-seok pointed out that the true face of the amateurish real estate policy has been exposed, citing the opposition expressed by Kim Min-seok, a candidate for the Democratic Party's leadership, to the Lee Jae-myung administration's real estate tax reform plan. Choi criticized, "Even Candidate Kim, a prominent pro-Lee figure within the Democratic Party, has stepped forward to put the brakes on key points, such as the tax burden on non-residents owning a single home and the abolition of the special deduction for long-term capital gains." He added, "This is because it has become difficult to find anyone, even within the ruling party, who can confidently say that the Lee Jae-myung administration's real estate policy is on the right track."

 

He continued, "A vicious cycle is repeating itself where housing prices remain uncontrolled, loans are tightened, and the tax burden is only increasing, with the repercussions falling on the working class who do not own homes." He warned, "Flawed real estate policies are eroding the momentum of state affairs for President Lee, who has just passed his one-year mark in office, and are hastening his own early lame duck status." He went on to point out, “We must immediately wake up from the illusion that ideology can conquer the market, and the delusion that adding more regulations and taxes will bring housing prices under control.” He added, “It has been revealed that the Blue House’s belief that relations between the party and the Blue House would remain smooth if Candidate Kim became the party leader was also a delusion.” Furthermore, he raised his voice, stating, “Insisting on stubbornness as policy and packaging failure will not restore the shattered trust of the market,” and urged, “Remember that the public’s anger, seething over real estate, is already approaching a breaking point.”

Spokesperson Cho Yong-sul pointed out that Defense Minister Ahn Kyu-baek is engaging in "double-dealing politics" by flip-flopping on his stance regarding the integration of military academies.

 

Spokesperson Cho stated, "During a meeting with the heads of the alumni associations of the Army, Navy, and Air Force academies on the 12th, Minister Ahn attempted to appease them by hinting at the possibility of maintaining the current system, but on the 14th, he reversed this stance in front of the media and declared a 'blind integration.'" He criticized, "Leaving room to quell the controversy behind the scenes, yet unilaterally pushing forward as soon as he takes the microphone, is a typical example of double-dealing politics."

 

He continued, "The integration of military academies is a critical defense reform involving the educational systems and identities of each branch that have persisted for decades," and warned, "Minister Ahn's reckless push, following President Lee Jae-myung's remark about the 'Korea Military Academy standing at the center of a coup,' stems from a distorted perception of the military." He went on to criticize, stating, “As the public hearing on the military academy approaches, the administration should not unilaterally push ahead but must first listen to the opinions of the public and military experts,” adding, “They must clearly realize that national defense is not politics.” Furthermore, he urged, “They must present consistent principles before the public and members of the military,” and demanded an “immediate re-examination of misguided policy directions.”

Chief Floor Spokesperson Choi Eun-seok pointed out that the Lee Jae-myung administration is maintaining a complacent and ineffective stance, despite the fact that the number of wage earners has decreased for four consecutive months for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a “society of employment cliff.” Chief Spokesperson Choi criticized the situation, stating, “The increase in the total workforce relies solely on non-wage earners, such as the self-employed, while high-quality wage jobs in professional, scientific, and technical services, as well as wholesale, retail, and construction, have significantly decreased.” He added, “It is a serious situation where the number of employed youth has declined for 45 consecutive months and the employment rate has fallen for 27 consecutive months.” He continued by warning, “The government is blaming the worsening employment situation solely on external variables like the Middle East war, and is still merely complaining that preparations are underway, such as by revising the ‘Youth Job Recovery Plan’ just before its announcement.”

 

He further pointed out, “We must face the reality that the economic structure is shifting toward a ‘structure that hires fewer people’ due to the spread of AI, automation, and a preference for experienced workers,” and criticized the government, saying, “We must not neglect this structural crisis by relying on optimistic economic forecasts.” In addition, he urged, “Regulations that hinder corporate new hiring and investment must be removed,” and called for “speedy implementation of a retraining system to facilitate a transition to growth industries and a comprehensive strategy to address youth employment.”  Senior Spokesperson Park Sung-hoon (Regarding the Election of Kim Min-suk as New Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea)

 

While Senior Spokesperson Park Sung-hoon offered congratulations on the election of former Prime Minister Kim Min-suk as the new leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, he demanded that the party break away from acting as a "shield for Lee Jae-myung" and be reborn as a "responsible ruling party for the people."

 

Senior Spokesperson Park criticized, "Following the Democratic Party's repeated legislative dominance with an overwhelming number of seats in the first half of the National Assembly, this national convention has further solidified a unipolar system in which President Lee Jae-myung and the ruling party move as one body." He added, "President Lee has invited criticism for blatantly intervening in the national convention while even using the semiconductor industry as a political spoils."

 

He continued, "Representative Kim's insistence on the complete abolition of the prosecution's supplementary investigation authority and his characterization of the President's resumption of trials as 'violence' are acts that shake the constitutional value of the separation of powers." He emphasized, "There is great concern that he is acting as an avatar protecting the President's judicial risks." He went on to point out, “The ruling party’s top priority is not defending the President, but protecting the people, the Constitution, and the future of the nation,” adding, “We must break away from confrontational politics aimed at hardline supporters and respect the opposition party as a partner in governing the country.” Furthermore, he stated, “The People Power Party will always extend a hand for cooperation regarding people’s livelihoods and national interests, but will firmly stand against any undermining of democracy,” and conveyed, “I look forward to you becoming a leader of the ruling party who unites the people and normalizes state affairs.”

Chief Floor Spokesperson Choi Eun-seok congratulated Kim Min-seok on his election as the new leader of the Democratic Party of Korea and urged him to restore the collapsed bipartisan cooperation through dialogue and compromise with the opposition party. Chief Spokesperson Choi criticized, “The economy and people’s livelihoods are in a grave state due to confusion in real estate policies, uncertainty in the stock market, public safety concerns arising from the abolition of supplementary investigative powers, and the push for anti-business legislation such as the ‘Yellow Envelope Law.’” He added, “All of this is the result of the Lee Jae-myung administration and the Democratic Party prioritizing legislative unilateralism based on their massive parliamentary seats over the people’s livelihoods.”

 

He continued to urge, “At a time when the people’s livelihood issues are critical, one must not be preoccupied with devising a path for the President’s re-election or overhauling laws and systems to halt trials related to the President.”
