[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산진구의회가 지속되는 고물가와 경기 침체로 어려움을 겪고 있는 구민들의 민생 안정을 위해 올해 편성된 의원 공무국외출장 예산 전액을 반납하기로 했다.

부산진구의회는 의원 19명 전원의 뜻을 모아 2026년도 의원 공무국외출장 여비 8,550만 원 전액을 반납하기로 최종 결정했다고 밝혔다. 이번 결정은 어려운 지방재정 여건을 고려해 예산 절감에 의회가 솔선수범하고, 지역사회의 경제적 부담을 조금이나마 덜기 위해 마련됐다.

성낙욱 구의회 의장은 “고물가와 경기 침체로 구민들의 삶이 그 어느 때보다 어려운 시기에 19명의 의원 모두가 한마음으로 뜻을 모았다”며 “형식적인 연수를 지양하고 구민들이 체감할 수 있는 현장을 더욱 세심하게 살피는 한편, 절감한 예산이 꼭 필요한 곳에 쓰일 수 있도록 의회 본연의 역할에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

구의회는 이번 공무국외출장 예산 반납을 계기로 더욱 긴축적인 예산 운용을 추진하고, 구민의 생활 현장을 중심으로 한 의정활동을 지속해 나갈 방침이다.

The Busanjin District Council has decided to return the entire budget allocated for overseas business trips by council members this year, placing the stabilization of residents’ livelihoods at the top of its priorities amid persistent inflation and an economic slowdown.

The council announced that all 19 members had unanimously agreed to return the full KRW 85.5 million allocated for overseas business trip expenses in 2026. The decision was made to lead by example in reducing expenditures amid difficult local fiscal conditions and to help ease the economic burden on the local community, even if only to a small extent.

Sung Nak-wook, chairman of the Busanjin District Council, said, “At a time when residents are facing greater difficulties than ever due to high inflation and the economic downturn, all 19 council members came together with a shared commitment.” He added, “We will refrain from formal or perfunctory overseas training programs and instead focus more closely on the issues residents face in their daily lives. We will do our utmost to fulfill the council’s fundamental role so that the savings can be used where they are truly needed.”

The Busanjin District Council plans to use the return of the overseas business trip budget as an opportunity to pursue more disciplined fiscal management and continue field-oriented legislative activities focused on residents’ needs.
