브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 크리스토퍼 놀란 감독의 국내 최고 흥행작에 등극한 영화 <오디세이>가 <아바타: 물의 길>을 제치고 역대 외화 흥행 6위에 올랐다.    

14일 수입·배급사 유니버설 픽쳐스는 “<인터스텔라>의 관객수를 뛰어넘으며 크리스토퍼 놀란 감독의 국내 개봉작 중 최고 흥행 기록을 새롭게 쓴 <​오디세이>가 또 하나의 흥행 기록을 세웠다”고 밝혔다. 

14일 영화관입장권 통합전산망에 따르면, <오디세이>는 개봉 41일째인 오늘(14일) 오후 3시 9분 기준, 누적 관객수 1082만 4683명을 돌파하며 <아바타: 물의 길>의 최종 관객수를 넘어섰다. 

이로써 <오디세이>는 코로나 팬데믹 이후인 2020년대 국내에서 개봉한 외화 중 최고 흥행작에 등극, 식지 않는 흥행 저력을 다시 한번 입증했다. 

뿐만 아니라 <오디세이>는 <어벤져스: 에이지 오브 울트론>(1050만 4487명), <아바타: 물의 길>​(1082만 4614명)를 연이어 제치며 국내 역대 외화 흥행 6위에 오르는 기록까지 세웠다. 

2020년대 국내 개봉 외화 최고 흥행작이자, 국내 역대 외화 흥행 6위에 오른 영화 <오디세이>는 전국 극장에서 절찬 상영 중이다.

한편, 맷 데이먼, 톰 홀랜드, 앤 해서웨이, 로버트 패틴슨, 젠데이아, 샤를리즈 테론 등이 출연한 <오디세이>(감독 크리스토퍼 놀란)는 트로이 전쟁을 승리로 이끈 영웅 ‘오디세우스’가 집으로 돌아가기 위해 신들의 분노에 맞서 싸우는 대서사시를 담아낸 시네마틱 블록버스터다.

"Odyssey" Surpasses 10.82 Million Viewers, Ranking 6th All-Time Among Foreign Films... Overtakes "Avatar: The Way of Water"

=New Film by Director Christopher Nolan Currently Showing in Theaters Nationwide

The film *Odyssey*, which has become Director Christopher Nolan’s highest-grossing film in Korea, has surpassed *Avatar: The Way of Water* to claim the 6th spot on the all-time list of foreign film box office hits in the country.

On the 14th, the film's importer and distributor, Universal Pictures, announced, "*Odyssey*, which previously set a new record as Director Christopher Nolan’s highest-grossing release in Korea by surpassing the audience count of *Interstellar*, has now achieved yet another box office milestone."

According to the Korean Film Council’s Integrated Computer Network for Movie Theater Admissions on the 14th, *Odyssey* surpassed the final audience count of *Avatar: The Way of Water* by reaching a cumulative total of 10,824,683 viewers as of 3:09 PM today (the 41st day of its release).

With this achievement, *Odyssey* has established itself as the highest-grossing foreign film released in Korea during the 2020s (post-pandemic era), once again proving its enduring box office power.

Furthermore, *Odyssey* surpassed both *Avengers: Age of Ultron* (10,504,487 viewers) and *Avatar: The Way of Water* (10,824,614 viewers) to secure 6th place among the highest-grossing foreign films of all time in Korea.

*Odyssey*—the highest-grossing foreign film released in Korea in the 2020s and the 6th highest-grossing foreign film in Korean history—is currently showing in theaters nationwide to great acclaim. 

Meanwhile, *Odyssey* (directed by Christopher Nolan)—starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron—is a cinematic blockbuster that depicts the epic tale of the hero Odysseus, who led the Trojan War to victory, as he battles the wrath of the gods to return home.
