청와대가 18일 “오늘 대통령 기자회견 중 ‘일종의 평탄화’ 발언은 가격 변동 추이에 대한 설명”이라며 해명하고 나섰다.

청와대는 이날 저녁 언론 공지에서 "강남 3구 제외 서울 집값 상승으로 국민 부담이 커진 상황을 무겁게 받아들이고 있다”며 이같이 전했다.

그러면서 “누적된 공급 부족 속 강북은 신규 입주가 특히 부족했으며 초고가 주택 위주 세제 개편·대출 한도 영향이 적은 중저가 주택이 많아 수요가 몰린 걸 주 원인으로 보고 있다”며 "공급 대책을 속도감 있게 추진하고 공공임대 확대 등 전월세 대책도 꼼꼼히 챙기겠다”고 덧붙였다.

이재명 대통령은 이날 오전 청와대 기자회견에서 부동산 정책 관련 질의에 "다행스러운 건 최근 강남 포함 지역 하락이 시작돼 계속 하락이 확산 중"이라며 "외곽 지역은 오르고 있으며 전에 강남은 꼭대기 다른 데는 낮은 식이었는데 여기(강남)는 내리고 여기(강남 외)는 살짝 오르는 일종의 평탄화 작업이 진행되는 것 같다”고 했다.

In a press notice issued that evening, the Blue House stated, "We take seriously the growing burden on the public caused by rising housing prices in Seoul—excluding the 'Gangnam 3-gu' districts."

They further explained, "We attribute this trend to a concentration of demand in the Gangbuk area, where there was a particularly acute shortage of new housing supply amidst a cumulative supply deficit, and where a large number of low-to-mid-priced homes—which are less affected by tax reforms targeting ultra-expensive properties or loan limits—are located." They added, "We will accelerate the implementation of supply measures and thoroughly manage policies regarding rental housing, such as expanding public rental options."

During a press conference at the Blue House that morning, President Lee Jae-myung addressed questions regarding real estate policy, stating, "Fortunately, prices have begun to fall in areas including Gangnam, and this downward trend is spreading."
