이재명 대통령이 기자회견을 열며 국면 전환에 나섰으나 유권층 반응은 신통치 않은 듯싶다. 회견 이후 실시된 국정운영 여론조사에서 긍정평가가 직전 조사보다 1.7%p 하락한 32.9%인 것으로 집계됐다. 반면 부정평가는 2.8%p 상승한 65.6%를 차지했다. '잘 모름'은 1.5%였다.

이같은 결과는 펜앤마이크 의뢰를 받은 여론조사기관 공정(주)이 지난 20~21일 이틀간 전국에 거주하는 18세 이상 남녀 유권자 1009명을 대상으로 실시한 '대통령 국정운영을 어떻게 평가하는지'에 따른 것으로 22일 공표됐다. 

특히 눈여겨 볼 지점은 '매우 잘하고 있다' 23.5%와, '매우 잘못하고 있다' 56.3%의 현격한 대비다. 그간 이재명 정부에 대한 누적된 불만의 깊이를 가늠할 수 있는 지점이다. 아울러 향후 이 대통령 재판과 관련된 '공소취소' 논란이 본격화될 경우, 그에 따른 파장은 걷잡기 어려울 것으로 관측된다.

세부별로 모든 권역에서 부정평가가 앞선 가운데, 대구·경북은 긍정 25.5%, 부정 74.5%를 기록했다. 광주·호남도 긍정 41.1%, 부정 58.2%로 악화됐으며, 서울(긍정 30.4%, 부정 67.8%), 경기·인천(33.5%, 65.3%), 대전·충청(35.1%, 61.2%,  부산·울산·경남(30.6%, 66.9%), 강원·제주(40.6%, 59.4%)를 보였다.

연령대별로는 30대에서 긍정 25.3%, 부정 74.0%로 가장 악화된 상태를 드러냈다. 또한 18세~20대(긍정 30.1%, 부정 69.9%), 40대(38.8%, 58.4%), 50대(39.7%, 58.7%), 60대(29.4%, 69.7%), 70세 이상(32.4%, 64.8%)까지 모든 세대에서 부정평가가 앞섰다.

현재 중지된 이재명 대통령 재판 진행에 대한 질문에서도 응답자의 72.7%가 찬성하는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 "지금 바로 다시 진행해야" 44.6%, "임기 후 진행해야" 28.1%로 응답했다. 반면 재판 열리는 것을 반대하는 의미인 "공소 자체를 취소해야"는 응답은 24.2%에 그쳤다.

이재명 대통령의 대국민 기자회견에 대한 평가에서는 '만족한다' 32.5%(매우 만족 22.6%), '만족하지 않는다' 63.9%(전혀 만족하지 않음 50.2%)로 조사됐다. 특히 광주·호남권마저 '만족하지 않는다'는 응답이 57.7%로, '만족한다'는 응답 40.6%에 비해 크게 우세했다.

해당 조사는 구조화된 설문지를 이용한 무선전화 RDD 추출 방식의 100% 무선 ARS로 진행됐다. 응답률 2.8%, 표본오차는 95% 신뢰수준에 ±3.1%p다. 자세한 내용은 중앙선거여론조사심의위원회 홈페이지를 참조하면 된다.

Although President Lee Jae-myung held a press conference in an attempt to turn the tide, the reaction from the electorate appears lukewarm. In a public opinion poll on state affairs conducted after the conference, the positive assessment rating fell by 1.7 percentage points from the previous survey to 32.9%. Conversely, the negative assessment rating rose by 2.8 percentage points to 65.6%. Those who answered "don't know" accounted for 1.5%.

These results were released on the 22nd, based on a survey commissioned by PenNMike and conducted by the polling agency Gongjeong Co., Ltd. over two days (the 20th and 21st) among 1,009 male and female voters aged 18 or older nationwide regarding their evaluation of the President's performance.

A particularly noteworthy point is the stark contrast between the 23.5% who believe he is doing a "very good job" and the 56.3% who believe he is doing a "very poor job." This highlights the depth of accumulated dissatisfaction with the Lee Jae-myung administration. Furthermore, it is predicted that if the controversy surrounding the potential withdrawal of the indictment in President Lee's trial intensifies, the resulting fallout could become uncontrollable.

A breakdown by region shows that negative assessments outweighed positive ones across all areas; notably, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region recorded 25.5% positive and 74.5% negative ratings. Sentiment in the Gwangju-Honam region also worsened, showing 41.1% positive and 58.2% negative ratings; other regions showed the following figures: Seoul (30.4% positive, 67.8% negative), Gyeonggi-Incheon (33.5%, 65.3%), Daejeon-Chungcheong (35.1%, 61.2%), Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (30.6%, 66.9%), and Gangwon-Jeju (40.6%, 59.4%).

By age group, those in their 30s showed the most negative sentiment, with 25.3% positive and 74.0% negative ratings. Negative assessments outweighed positive ones across all age groups, including those aged 18–29 (30.1% positive, 69.9% negative), those in their 40s (38.8%, 58.4%), 50s (39.7%, 58.7%), 60s (29.4%, 69.7%), and those aged 70 or older (32.4%, 64.8%).

Regarding the currently suspended trial of President Lee Jae-myung, 72.7% of respondents expressed support for the proceedings to move forward. Specifically, 44.6% responded that the trial "should resume immediately," while 28.1% said it "should proceed after the term of office ends." In contrast, only 24.2% supported the view that "the indictment itself should be dropped," effectively opposing the trial.

Evaluations of President Lee Jae-myung's press conference showed that 32.5% were "satisfied" (22.6% "very satisfied"), while 63.9% were "dissatisfied" (50.2% "not at all satisfied"). Notably, even in the Gwangju-Honam region, 57.7% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction, compared to those who expressed satisfaction... ...significantly outperformed the 40.6% figure.

The survey was conducted using a 100% mobile-phone-based ARS method, utilizing a structured questionnaire and RDD (Random Digit Dialing) sampling. The response rate was 2.8%, and the margin of error was ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
