[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 영도구의 한 포장마차 거리 인근에서 남녀 2명이 잇따라 바다에 빠졌지만, 주변 행인들이 던져준 구명환을 붙잡고 버틴 끝에 해경에 의해 무사히 구조됐다.

부산해양경찰서는 지난 30일 오후 5시 53분께 영도구 대교물양장 인근 해상에서 바다에 빠진 40대 남녀 2명을 구조했다고 밝혔다.

해경에 따르면 서울에 거주하는 이들은 영도 포차거리에서 술을 마신 뒤 이동하던 중 남성이 먼저 바다에 빠졌다. 여성이 남성을 구하기 위해 물에 뛰어들었고, 주변에 있던 행인들이 두 사람에게 구명환을 던졌다.

두 사람은 구명환을 붙잡은 채 구조를 기다렸으며, 신고를 받고 출동한 부산해경 남항파출소 연안구조정과 중앙특수구조단, 영도파출소 순찰차가 현장에 투입됐다.

남항파출소 연안구조정은 신고 4분 뒤인 오후 5시 57분께 현장에 도착했다. 해경 경찰관이 직접 바다에 들어가 남녀 2명을 모두 구조한 뒤 119구급대에 인계했다.

구조된 두 사람은 건강에 이상이 없는 것으로 확인됐다.

해경은 음주 후 바닷가를 이동할 때 발을 헛디뎌 바다에 빠질 수 있다며 각별한 주의를 당부했다.

Two people in their 40s were rescued after falling into the sea near a food stall street in Busan’s Yeongdo district, with bystanders throwing them a life ring that they held onto until coast guard officers arrived, authorities said.

The Busan Coast Guard said the two Seoul residents fell into the water near Daegyo Pier at around 5:53 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the coast guard, the man fell into the sea while the two were walking after drinking at the nearby food stall street. The woman then entered the water in an attempt to rescue him.

People nearby threw a life ring to the pair, who held onto it while waiting for rescuers.

The coast guard dispatched a coastal rescue boat from the Namhang patrol station, a special rescue team and a patrol vehicle from the Yeongdo patrol station after receiving the emergency call.

The rescue boat arrived at the scene at 5:57 p.m., about four minutes after the report. A coast guard officer entered the water and rescued both people before handing them over to emergency medical personnel.

Neither person was found to have suffered any health problems, the coast guard said.

The Busan Coast Guard urged people to take extra care when walking near the water after drinking.

“Rather than entering the water yourself to rescue someone who has fallen into the sea, use safety equipment such as a life ring and immediately call 119 or the coast guard,”
