부산시, 울산시, 경상북도, 강원도는 지난 2004년 광역관광 협력체계 구축과 공동 관광상품 개발, 관광자원 홍보 등을 위해 ‘동해안권 관광진흥협의회’를 구성했고, 매년 각 시도에서 사업비를 분담하여 총 2억 원의 사업비로 다양한 공동사업을 진행 중이다.
