D-Space BIFC

On the 63rd floor of the Busan International Financial Center, six foreign financial companies from four countries, including Hong Kong, were selected as priority targets.

Mayor Byun Seong-wan announced on the 9th that it has attracted six companies, including Hong Kong's BMI GROUP Limited, as a priority to move into the space on the 63rd floor of the Busan International Financial Center (BIFC) (Busan City D (Decacorn)-Space BIFC, hereinafter D-Space BIFC). .

'D-Space BIFC' is a space created by Busan City to become an Asian financial hub city. The city has secured office space exclusively for foreign financial institutions on the 63rd floor of BIFC in response to the change in the status of the Hong Kong financial hub.

By attracting six competent foreign financial institutions this time, the city will promote the development of a “Asian financial hub city” in earnest, and the Busan International Financial Center's 10-year longing project is expected to be resolved.

In June, the city quickly established a strategy to attract targets of global financial institutions, and it is known that it has appropriately utilized publicity through global economic media, online investment briefing sessions, and local networks even in difficult challenges that are blocked by Corona 19.

As a result, many companies received letters of intent in advance, and in October, foreign financial institutions to reside on the 63rd floor of the Busan International Financial Center entered a public offering.

Eight companies from five countries applied for the public offering. For these companies, after the first written review and the second presentation review in November, one company was treated as ineligible, and six companies were selected as priority targets, excluding one company with a decision to withhold.

The main evaluation criteria are ▲ cooperation and growth with Busan Finance ▲ A company that has a great synergy effect in the future financial field in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, such as fintech and blockchain, which have strengths in Busan Finance ▲ Can maximize the synergy effect with Busan Finance infrastructure It was a company that was there.

First of all, 6 companies from 4 countries were selected as target companies, ▲ Hong Kong's BMI GROUP Limited, GBR Capital Limited, Winsome Group ▲ US-based Citibank Korea, ▲ Indonesia's Huobi Indonesia ▲ Israeli-based Yozma Group Korea.

Foreign financial institutions, etc. residing in D-Space BIFC can use a space of around 10m2 per person for free every three years. It can be extended up to 25 years through evaluation of project performance. Maintenance and interior expenses are at your own expense.

The city solves the problem of initial settlement, which usually takes more than three years, and actively supports the discovery of business models through one-stop support such as business support and interpretation settlement condition consulting so that tenants can successfully land in Busan.

The city centered on the six companies that were selected this time, as the global financial industry ecosystem in Busan became more solid, creating a collaborative environment with digital financial companies including fintech, and expanding opportunities for investment by local SMEs and overseas expansion. It is expected that the foothold to leap into the first financial hub will be strengthened.

Mayor Byeon Seong-wan said, “Busan has established the foundation as a global financial center by creating a financial foundation through the development of the Busan International Financial Center, relocating the primary financial public institutions, and establishing U-Space BIFC, a digital financial hub center.” In order to become an Asia-Pacific financial hub beyond this Northeast Asian financial hub, KDB Industrial Bank, IBK Industrial Bank, the Export-Import Bank of Korea, Korea Investment Corporation as well as Korea Venture Investment are headquartered to Busan, along with attracting competent domestic and foreign financial institutions. It will have to be able to maximize synergy effect by relocating it."
