[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 9일 경상남도와 부산·경남 지역 5개 의과대학과 함께 ‘지역 의료인재 양성을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다.

이날 업무협약을 체결한 대학은 부산대, 인제대, 고신대, 동아대, 경상국립대 등 5개 의과대학이다.

이번 협약은 지역 내 의료인력의 안정적인 양성과 정착을 위한 기반을 마련하기 위한 것으로, 지자체와 대학 간 협력 체계 구축을 통해 지역완결형 의료체계 조성을 목표로 한다.

협약에 따라 7개 기관은 지역 의료인재 양성을 위한 교육 협의체를 구성하고, 부산·경남 지역 5개 의과대학생을 대상으로 한 공공의료기관 내 현장 교육 및 실습에 협력하기로 했다.

특히, 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE)와 연계해 의과대학 교육환경 개선 방안을 논의하고, 학생들이 지역 공공보건의료와 필수의료 체계를 이해할 수 있도록 실질적인 교육 기회를 제공할 계획이다.

협약식에 참여한 기관들은 지역 내 의료환경이 수도권 집중, 인력 부족, 고령화 등으로 어려움을 겪고 있으며, 소아·분만·응급 등 필수 의료 분야의 인력 공백이 특히 심각하다는 점에 공감했다.

이에 따라 지역 중심의 실습과 교육을 통해 양성된 인재들이 지역에 정착할 수 있도록 여건을 개선하는 것이 중요하다는 데 의견을 같이했다.
