[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산상공회의소는 18일 오전 11시, 부산상의 2층 국제회의장에서 임직원 70여 명이 참석한 가운데 창립 136주년 기념식을 개최했다.

1889년 7월 19일 민족상권 수호를 위해 설립된 부산객주상법회사를 모태로 하는 부산상공회의소는, 이후 동래상업회의소, 부산조선인상업회의소를 거쳐 1946년부터 근대적 조직을 갖춘 종합경제단체로서 136년 동안 부산 지역경제계의 대표기관으로 역할을 해오고 있다.

그간 부산상의는 부산은행(1967년), 부산도시가스(1980년), 부산생명보험(1988년), 제일투자신탁(1989년), 에어부산(2007년) 등의 기업 설립을 주도하며 지역산업의 토대를 마련해왔다. 또한 삼성자동차와 한국선물거래소 유치, 강서구 개발제한구역 해제, 가덕도신공항 특별법 제정 등 지역 현안 해결에도 주도적으로 참여해 왔다.
