[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 국내 최대 규모의 통합 미술 행사 ‘대한민국 미술축제’가 오는 9월 전국적으로 펼쳐진다.

특히 부산에서는 지역의 예술 생태계를 조명하고 시민과 예술의 접점을 넓히는 참여형 프로그램 ‘아트 시그널, 부산’이 오는 9월 개최된다.

문화체육관광부와 (재)예술경영지원센터가 주최하는 ‘대한민국 미술축제’가 올해도 전국 각지에서 개최된다. 이 축제는 비엔날레, 아트페어, 전시 등을 하나의 흐름으로 엮어내며 관람객이 보다 쉽게 미술을 접하고 즐길 수 있도록 돕는 것이 특징이다.

올해는 국립현대미술관 등 유관기관과 협력해 주요 미술 행사 입장권 할인과 더불어 ‘미술여행 프로그램’을 확대 운영한다. 이를 통해 관람객의 이동 동선을 고려한 문화 체험 기회를 제공하며, 지역 기반 미술 콘텐츠에 대한 접근성을 높이고 있다.

부산경상권에서는 아트페어 기획사 아트미츠라이프(AML)가 운영을 맡은 <아트 시그널, 부산>이 주목된다. 이 프로그램은 ▲VIP 갤러리 투어(Art Exclusive), ▲작가 아틀리에 방문(Studio Link), ▲대중 강연(Art & Ideas), ▲미술 전공자 멘토링(Next Art, Busan) 등 네 가지 형식의 투어로 구성되어 있으며, 총 8회 운영된다.

특히 시민 대상 프로그램인 ‘Art & Ideas’ 강연은 오는 9월 19일부터 21일까지 부산 F1963 도서관에서 3일간 진행된다. 9월 19일에는 뇌과학자 장동선 박사가 ‘Art & Brain: 뇌과학으로 알아보는 예술’을 주제로 강연을 펼친다. 예술 감상이 뇌에 미치는 영향과 예술이 인간의 인지와 정서에 어떤 의미를 가지는지에 대해 뇌과학적 관점에서 해석할 예정이다.

이튿날인 9월 20일과 21일에는 미술교육가이자 컬렉터인 이소영 작가가 ‘첫 작품, 첫 컬렉션: 젊은 작가의 에너지를 내 삶에 들이는 법’을 주제로 강연을 진행한다. 동시대 젊은 작가들의 창작 흐름과 이를 바라보는 애호가의 태도, 컬렉팅 입문에 관한 현실적인 이야기를 공유할 예정이다.

모든 강연은 회당 선착순 35명 정원으로 운영되며, 참가비는 무료다. 사전 신청은 오는 8월 18일부터 ‘대한민국 미술축제’ 공식 웹사이트를 통해 가능하다.

‘아트 시그널, 부산’은 단순한 전시 관람을 넘어, 예술을 주제로 한 체험과 소통의 장을 제공함으로써 부산 지역 미술 생태계에 대한 이해를 넓히고 시민의 참여를 유도하는 데 의의를 두고 있다. 지역 안팎의 예술계 인프라를 연결하며 예술의 사회적 가치를 재조명하는 이번 프로그램은, 부산을 하나의 예술 도시로서 재발견하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다.

The Korea Art Festival, the country’s largest integrated art event, returns this year with a nationwide rollout. In Busan, the spotlight turns to Art Signal, Busan—a participatory program designed to highlight the local art ecosystem and foster deeper engagement between citizens and contemporary art.

Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service, the Korea Art Festival connects biennales, art fairs, and exhibitions held across the nation. The festival aims to make visual art more accessible to the public by linking major events and providing seamless cultural experiences.

This year, the festival expands its reach through collaborations with institutions such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, offering discounted tickets to key exhibitions and launching the “Art Travel Program” to help visitors navigate and engage with diverse art scenes more effectively.

In the Busan–Gyeongsang region, Art Signal, Busan—organized by art fair planning agency Art Meets Life (AML)—stands out as a major regional program. The initiative consists of four themed tours:

Art Exclusive: A VIP gallery tour tailored for collectors from the Seoul metropolitan area ▲Studio Link: Artist studio visits aimed at art professionals ▲Art & Ideas: Public lectures for Busan citizens and art enthusiasts ▲Next Art, Busan: A career mentoring program for university art students

Each tour will run across eight sessions, with approximately 150 participants expected in total.

Among these, the Art & Ideas lecture series will take place over three days, from September 19 to 21, at the F1963 Library in Busan. On the opening day (September 19), neuroscientist and science communicator Dr. Dong-Seon Jang will give a lecture titled “Art & Brain: Understanding Art Through Neuroscience.” The talk will explore how the brain perceives and responds to art, and how art experiences influence cognition, emotion, and social connection—based on neuroscience research.

On September 20 and 21, artist, educator, and collector Soyoung Lee will present a talk titled “First Piece, First Collection: Bringing the Energy of Emerging Artists into Your Life.” She will introduce trends among rising contemporary artists and share insights on how collectors and art lovers can meaningfully engage with today’s art landscape.

All lectures are free of charge and open to 35 participants per session on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration opens on August 18 via the official Korea Art Festival website.

Art Signal, Busan goes beyond art viewing—it creates a space for hands-on experience and dialogue, deepening understanding of the local art ecosystem while encouraging community participation. By bridging regional art infrastructure and public engagement, the program offers a fresh opportunity to rediscover Busan as a city of art.
