[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시와 부산시체육회는 제106회 전국체육대회를 18일 앞둔 9월 29일 오후 1시, 시청 1층 대강당에서 부산대표선수단 결단식을 개최하며 대회의 성공과 선수단의 선전을 다짐했다.

 

2000년 이후 무려 25년 만에 부산에서 열리는 역사적인 대회에 참가하는 2,000여 명의 선수단에게 시민들의 염원과 격려를 전달하고, 부산을 명실상부한 '스포츠 천국 도시'로 완성하겠다는 강력한 의지를 표명하는 자리였다.

 

결단식 성황리에 개최, 600여 명 참석해 필승 다짐

이번 결단식은 오는 10월 17일부터 23일까지 7일간 부산에서 열리는 제106회 전국체육대회를 앞두고 부산 대표 선수단의 선전을 다짐하고, 시민들의 응원과 지지를 결집하기 위해 마련되었다.

 

이날 행사에는 박형준 부산광역시장, 이종환 부산시의회 부의장, 김석준 부산시 교육감, 장인화 부산시 체육회장을 비롯한 체육계 인사와 선수·임원 등 600여 명이 참석해 필승 의지를 다졌다.

 

행사는 ▲체전 참가 준비 상황 보고 ▲선수단 훈련 영상물 및 대회 홍보영상 상영 ▲단기 수여 ▲선수 대표 선서 ▲격려 ▲결의 다짐 순으로 진행됐다. 박 시장은 선수단 단장인 장인화 체육회장에게 단기를 전달했으며, 선수 대표 선서는 '철인 3종 허민호 선수(부산시체육회)'와 '농구 김주하 선수(동주여고)'가 맡아 결연한 각오를 다졌다.

또한, 부산상공회의소, 부산도시가스, 비엔케이(BNK)부산은행, 여성체육위원회, 대한체육회, 원로체육회 등에서 선수단에 격려금을 전달하며 응원했다. 아울러 시청 앞에는 기념 촬영 구역(포토존)이 설치되었고, 선수단을 위한 응원 음료 차도 운영되어 결단식 분위기를 고조시켰다.

 

장인화 선수단장(부산시 체육회장)은 환영사에서 "25년 전 전국체육대회는 부산 체육 발전의 초석이 되었고, 시민들에게 자긍심과 감동을 주었다"며, "다시금 부산이 전국체전의 무대가 된 것은 새로운 도약을 상징하는 뜻깊은 일"이라고 대회의 의미를 부여했다. 또한, "이번 대회는 선수들에게 영광의 무대가 되고, 시민들에게는 화합의 축제가 될 것이며, 부산의 역동적이고 매력적인 진면목을 보여줄 소중한 기회가 될 것"이라며, "선수 한 사람 한 사람이 부산의 자랑이자 시민의 희망"이라고 강조했다.

박형준 시장은 격려사를 통해 더운 여름 훈련에 매진한 선수단과 지도자들에게 감사를 전하며, "사랑하는 도시 부산에서 자부심을 안고 뛸 수 있다는 것은 더욱 의미 있는 일"이라고 격려했다.

 

박 시장은 "우리 선수단의 목표가 종합 3위라는 야심찬 목표를 갖고 있는데, 부산 시민 모두가 한마음으로 응원하는 만큼 반드시 그 목표도 달성돼야 한다고 생각한다"고 밝히며, 선수들의 선전을 당부했다. 다만, "성적보다 중요한 것은 여러분들의 안전이고 즐기는 것이다. 후회 없는 경기를 펼치는 것만으로도 땀에 대한 보답이 될 것"이라며 선수들의 안전과 페어플레이를 당부했다.

 

특히 박 시장은 부산이 스포츠 천국 도시를 향해 힘차게 달려가고 있음을 강조했다. 최근 OK금융그룹 읏맨 프로 배구단을 유치하며 프로야구, 프로축구, 프로농구와 함께 4대 프로스포츠를 모두 갖춘 유일한 도시가 되었음을 알리고, 사직야구장 재건축(2031년까지 스마트 야구장 재건축 예정), 12월 세계도핑방지기구(WADA) 총회 개최, 생활 스포츠 인프라 구축 노력 등을 언급했다.

부산시, '체육국' 신설 통해 종합 3위권 진입 목표

부산시는 이번 대회를 통해 시민 모두가 하나 되는 계기를 마련하고, 선수들이 최고의 기량을 발휘할 수 있도록 지원을 이어갈 방침이다.

 

특히 시는 지난 3월 광역자치단체 최초로 ‘체육국’을 신설하고 스포츠 행정의 컨트롤 타워를 본격 가동했으며, 시 체육회와 함께 ▲우수선수 영입 ▲실업팀 확보 ▲팀 창단 지원 등을 통해 전국체육대회 불참 종목을 해소하고 전력을 보강하는 데 힘써왔다. 시는 이번 전국체전이 부산에서 개최되는 만큼 최종 목표로 종합 순위 3위권 진입을 설정했다.

 

제106회 전국체육대회는 50개 종목(정규 48, 시범 2)에 걸쳐 3만여 명이 참가하며, 부산 선수단은 선수 1,302명, 임원 698명 등 총 2,000명(선수 1,302명, 임원 698명)으로 구성되어 참가한다.

The gathering aimed to convey the hopes and encouragement of the citizens to the more than 2,000 athletes competing in the historic festival, which returns to Busan for the first time in 25 years since 2000. It also served to express the city's strong will to establish Busan as a genuine 'Sports Paradise City.'

 

Successful Ceremony Held with 600 Attendees Pledging Victory

The ceremony was prepared to encourage the Busan representative team's success and rally the support and backing of the citizens ahead of the 106th National Sports Festival, which will be held in Busan for seven days from October 17th to 23rd, 2025.

 

Approximately 600 people attended the event, including dignitaries such as Busan Mayor Park Hyeong-joon, Busan Metropolitan Council Vice Chairman Lee Jong-hwan, Busan Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education Kim Seok-joon, and Busan Sports Council President Jang In-hwa, who joined sports officials, athletes, and staff in solidifying their will to win.

 

The program proceeded in the following order: ▲ Report on preparation status for the National Sports Festival ▲ Screening of team training and competition promotional videos ▲ Presentation of the Team Flag ▲ Athletes' representative oath ▲ Encouragement speech ▲ Pledge of determination. Mayor Park presented the flag to Team Manager Jang In-hwa, and the athletes' oath was jointly delivered by triathlete Heo Min-ho (Busan Sports Council) and basketball player Kim Ju-ha (Dongju Girls' High School), expressing their firm resolve.

 

Furthermore, institutions including ▲ Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry ▲ Busan City Gas ▲ BNK Busan Bank ▲ Women's Sports Committee ▲ Korea Sports Council ▲ Senior Sports Council delivered incentive funds to the athletes, offering their support. Additionally, a photo zone was set up outside City Hall as a sideline event, and a support beverage truck was operated for the athletes, elevating the atmosphere of the rally.

Mayor Park Pledges Full Support, Sets Ambitious Goal for Top 3 Finish

Busan Mayor Park Hyeong-joon conveyed his gratitude to the athletes and coaches for their dedicated training during the hot summer in his encouragement speech, saying it is especially meaningful "to run with pride in the city they love, Busan."

 

Mayor Park stated, "The ambitious goal of our team is to finish within the top 3 overall, and since all Busan citizens are wholeheartedly rooting for you, I believe that goal must surely be achieved." He urged the athletes to strive for success. However, he also advised, "More important than results is your safety and enjoyment. Putting on a performance you don't regret will be reward enough for your sweat," emphasizing the importance of safety and fair play.

 

The Mayor particularly stressed that Busan is vigorously pursuing the goal of becoming a Sports Paradise City. He highlighted that with the recent successful recruitment of the OK Financial Group Okman professional volleyball team, Busan has become the only city to host all four major professional sports (baseball, soccer, basketball, and volleyball). He also mentioned the scheduled reconstruction of the Sajik Baseball Stadium (to be rebuilt as a smart stadium by 2031), the hosting of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) General Assembly in December, and ongoing efforts to build up grassroots sports infrastructure.

Notably, the city was the first among metropolitan governments to establish a 'Sports Bureau' in March, officially activating the control tower for sports administration.
