[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 제106회 전국체육대회가 17일부터 23일까지 7일간 부산 전역에서 펼쳐지는 대장정을 시작했다.

 

부산시는 25년 만에 부산에서 열리는 이번 대회를 위해 경기장 시설, 개·폐회식, 손님맞이 등 전 분야의 준비를 완벽히 마치고 모두가 하나 되어 즐기는 축제의 장을 마련했다고 밝혔다. 

 

전국 17개 시도 선수단 2만 8천791명과 18개국 재외한인단체 선수단 1천527명이 참가해 50개 종목에서 뜨거운 경쟁을 펼칠 예정이다.

 

대회 개요 및 시설 준비 완료

이번 대회는 17일 오후 6시 부산아시아드주경기장에서 개회식을 시작으로 막을 올렸다. 시는 선수단이 최상의 환경에서 경기를 치를 수 있도록 산악, 테니스 2개 경기장을 신설하고 82개 경기장을 개보수하여, 국제 규격에 부합하는 환경을 구축했다. 이를 통해 전국체전과 전국장애인체전 총 81개 종목, 120개 경기장을 확보했다.

성화 봉송 및 '쇼 부산' 개회식

성화 채화 및 봉송: 4곳에서 4가지 특별 테마로 채화된 성화는 지난 13일 부산시청에서 합화된 후 부산 전역을 순회했으며, 17일 개막식 주무대인 주경기장에 도착했다. 개막식의 하이라이트인 성화 점화는 부산의 열정을 하나로 모으는 감동의 순간을 연출했다.

 

박칼린 총감독이 연출을 맡은 개회식은 '배 들어온다, 부산!'을 주제로 했다. 해양도시 부산의 상징인 항만 컨테이너 하역장을 옮겨온 듯한 초대형 무대가 주경기장 그라운드 위에 펼쳐졌으며, 부산의 과거부터 현재, 그리고 미래로 향하는 희망의 메시지를 다채로운 퍼포먼스로 선보여 관객들을 부산의 이야기 속으로 이끌었다.

 

교통 및 안전 대책 강화

효율적인 교통 대책: 3만 7천여 명이 방문할 것으로 예상되는 개회식 당일, 교통 혼잡을 최소화하기 위해 이날 오후 4시부터 10시까지 주경기장 일대 주변 도로의 차량 통제를 실시했다. 또한, 시민 편의를 위해 주경기장 주변에 셔틀버스 2개 노선을 10분 간격으로 운행하고 도시철도 증편 및 시내버스 집중 배차를 시행했다.

 

빈틈없는 안전 대책: 시는 행사 참가자들의 안전을 위해 경기장 시설물과 선수단 숙소에 대한 안전 점검을 완료했으며, 경기장마다 의료 인력과 구급차를 배치하는 등 응급의료 지원체계를 상시 가동했다. 특히 개·폐회식 현장에는 안전요원을 촘촘히 배치하고 소방‧경찰 등 관계 기관과의 긴밀한 협력체계를 구축해 비상 상황 발생 시 신속하게 대응할 수 있도록 대비 태세를 강화했다.

 

손님맞이 및 축제 분위기 조성

숙박 및 수송 지원: 선수단과 관람객이 머무는 숙소·숙박업소에 위생교육을 실시하고 쾌적한 환경을 제공했다. 또한, 선수들이 최상의 컨디션으로 경기에 임할 수 있도록 선수단 전용 수송 차량 4천3백여 대를 투입해 지원했다.

 

숨은 주역, 자원봉사자 및 서포터스: 이번 대회의 성공적 진행을 위해 총 4천2백여 명의 자원봉사자와 1만 6천여 명의 서포터스가 각자의 자리에서 활약할 예정이다.

다채로운 문화·관광 프로그램: 선수와 관람객들이 부산의 매력을 만끽할 수 있도록 사직야구장과 해운대해수욕장에서 댄스 경연대회, 전국 시도 예술단 무대, 체험 공간(부스) 등 다양한 문화예술행사를 마련했다.

 

박형준 시장은 “제106회 전국체육대회가 '글로벌 허브도시'이자 '스포츠 천국도시' 부산에서 25년 만에 개최되는 만큼, 시민 모두가 한마음으로 준비했다”라며, “부산을 찾는 선수와 관람객 모두가 함께하는 축제의 장을 즐겨주시길 바라며, 국민 여러분의 힘찬 응원과 적극적인 참여를 당부드린다”라고 밝혔다.

Overview and Facility Readiness

The festival officially began with the opening ceremony at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium at 6:00 PM on October 17. To ensure athletes compete in the best possible environment, the city newly constructed two stadiums for mountaineering and tennis and renovated 82 others. This secured a total of 120 venues for 81 events across both the National Sports Festival and the National Para Games, upgrading the facilities to meet international standards.

 

Torch Relay and 'Show Busan' Opening Ceremony

Torch Lighting and Relay: The sacred flame, lit with four special themes in four different locations, was unified at Busan City Hall on October 13. It then toured all of Busan, arriving at the Main Stadium for the opening ceremony on October 17. The torch lighting, a highlight of the ceremony, created a moving moment that unified Busan's passion.

 

Opening Ceremony: Directed by Park Kal-lin, the ceremony was titled 'The Ships Are Coming In, Busan!' A massive stage, designed to look like a container terminal symbolizing Busan as a maritime city, unfolded on the stadium grounds. The performance showcased Busan's history, industry, and port heritage, its current vibrant city life, and a message of hope for the future, drawing the audience into the story of Busan.

 

Enhanced Traffic and Safety Measures

Efficient Traffic Control: To minimize congestion during the opening ceremony, which was expected to draw over 37,000 visitors, vehicle access was restricted on the surrounding roads near the Main Stadium from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM on October 17. For citizen convenience, shuttle buses on two routes were operated at 10-minute intervals around the stadium, and subway service and city bus schedules were increased.

 

Thorough Safety Measures: The city completed safety inspections of all stadium facilities and athlete accommodations. An emergency medical support system is running constantly, with medical personnel and ambulances deployed at every venue. For the heavily crowded opening and closing ceremonies, safety personnel were strategically positioned, and a close cooperation system with related agencies like the fire department and police was established to ensure a swift response to any emergency situation.

 

Hospitality and Festival Atmosphere

Accommodation and Transport Support: Hygiene training was conducted for staff at accommodations used by athletes and spectators, ensuring a pleasant stay in cooperation with the lodging industry association. Over 4,300 dedicated transport vehicles were deployed to support the athletes, helping them maintain peak condition for their competitions.

 

Hidden Heroes, Volunteers and Supporters: A total of 4,200 volunteers and 16,000 supporters will play a key role in the successful execution of the event.

 

Diverse Culture and Tourism Programs: To allow athletes and spectators to experience Busan's charm, a variety of cultural and tourism programs were arranged, including a dance contest at Sajik Baseball Stadium and Haeundae Beach, performances by provincial arts troupes, and various experience booths.

 

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “As the 106th National Sports Festival is being held in Busan—a 'Global Hub City' and 'Sports Paradise City'—for the first time in 25 years, all citizens have prepared with one heart. We hope that all athletes and spectators visiting Busan will enjoy this festival, and we ask for the strong support and active participation of the public."
