[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 20일 오후 2시 벡스코 컨벤션홀에서 열린 '남해안 미래비전 포럼'에서 경상남도, 전라남도와 함께 남해안권의 동반성장을 위한 전략적 협력 방안을 논의했다고 밝혔다.

 

이번 포럼은 2023년 경남, 2024년 전남에 이어 올해 부산에서 세 번째로 열렸으며, 박형준 부산시장, 박완수 경상남도지사, 김영록 전라남도지사 등 3개 시도 단체장이 참석해 남해안 공동발전의 구체적인 비전을 공유했다.

 

이날 행사에는 부산·경남·전남의 광역·기초의원, 공무원, 기업, 학계 관계자 등 300여 명이 함께해 초광역 협력의 의미를 더했다.

 

해양 중심의 혁신·균형발전 논의

올해로 3회째를 맞은 이번 포럼은 남해안권의 도시 경쟁력 강화와 초광역 소통의 장으로 자리 잡았다. 특히 시도지사가 함께하는 정책토크쇼가 기존 30분에서 60분으로 확대돼, 세 지역의 미래 비전과 공동성장 전략을 심도 있게 다루는 시간이 마련됐다.

 

이번 행사는 해양을 품은 남해안권이 산업, 인재, 문화, 관광이 고르게 순환하는 혁신균형발전을 이루고, 새로운 성장의 돌파구를 찾는 방안을 집중적으로 논의했다.

 

1부 정책토크쇼…“해양자치분권 시대의 남해안 발전”

포럼은 총 2부로 구성됐다. 1부에서는 박형준 부산시장, 박완수 경남도지사, 김영록 전남도지사가 참여하는 생방송 정책토크쇼가 진행됐다.

이경찬 영산대학교 교수가 진행한 이번 대담은 ‘해양자치분권의 시대, 남해안 지역발전을 말한다’를 주제로 열렸다.

 

박형준 시장은 부산이 해양산업과 해양과학기술, 수산업의 혁신을 주도하며 글로벌 해양 허브도시로 도약하고 있는 점을 강조하고, 경남·전남과의 전략적 협력을 통해 남해안권의 공동 성장 전략을 모색하겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.

 

2부 전문가 토론…남해안 공동성장 해법 모색

2부에서는 홍장원 한국해양수산개발원 연구위원의 사회로 전문가 주제발표와 종합 토론이 이어졌다. 유튜브 생중계로 진행된 이번 세션에서는 다음과 같은 발표가 있었다.

발표 이후 패널들은 남해안권이 실질적으로 함께 성장하기 위한 협력 방안을 모색하며 활발한 토의를 이어갔다.

 

“남해안권, 대한민국의 새로운 성장축으로”

박형준 부산시장은 “부산·경남·전남 3개 시도가 서로의 강점을 활용해 전략적으로 협력한다면, 해양자치분권의 실현을 넘어 남해안권이 대한민국의 새로운 성장축으로 도약하는 전환점이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

 

이어 “부산은 그동안 축적해 온 정책적 역량을 바탕으로 해양자치분권 시대를 선도하고, 경남·전남과 함께 전략적 공동체를 형성하기 위해 적극 협력하겠다”라고 강조했다.

“Southern Coast Future Vision Forum” held in Busan to strengthen cross-regional cooperation

 

The Busan Metropolitan Government announced that on October 20, it held the “Southern Coast Future Vision Forum” at BEXCO Convention Hall, in collaboration with Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeollanam-do, to discuss strategic cooperation plans for shared growth across the southern coastal region.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Following previous forums in Gyeongnam (2023) and Jeonnam (2024), this year’s event took place in Busan for the third time. Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon, Gyeongnam Governor Park Wan-su, and Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok attended to share concrete visions for joint development along the southern coast.

 

Around 300 participants, including regional and local legislators, government officials, business leaders, and academics from the three provinces, gathered to strengthen interregional cooperation.

 

Driving Balanced Innovation through the Power of the Sea

Celebrating its third year, the forum has grown into a major platform for sharing visions and strengthening competitiveness among the three coastal regions. The policy talk show session, featuring the governors, was expanded from 30 minutes to one hour, allowing for deeper discussion on future visions and joint growth strategies.

 

This year’s event focused on achieving balanced innovation across industries, talent, culture, and tourism in the southern coastal region — and explored pathways for regional growth led by the blue economy.

 

Part 1: Policy Talk Show on “Regional Development in the Age of Maritime Autonomy”

The forum was divided into two sessions. In the first session, a live policy talk show featured Mayor Park Heong-joon, Governor Park Wan-su, and Governor Kim Young-rok, moderated by Professor Lee Kyung-chan of Youngsan University. The discussion centered on “Regional Development in the Age of Maritime Autonomy.”

 

Mayor Park highlighted Busan’s leadership in maritime industry innovation, marine science and technology, and fisheries, reaffirming the city’s goal of becoming a global maritime hub. He also expressed his commitment to pursuing joint strategies with Gyeongnam and Jeonnam for the region’s collective growth.

 

Part 2: Expert Discussions on Pathways for Shared Growth

The second part, moderated by Hong Jang-won from the Korea Maritime Institute, featured expert presentations and discussions broadcast live on YouTube.

▲Choi Woo-ram, Jeonnam Research Institute: “Building a Super-Regional Economic Community in Southern Korea”

 

Panelists later held in-depth discussions on practical approaches to promoting joint development across the southern coastal regions.

 

“Toward a New Growth Axis for Korea”

Mayor Park remarked, “If Busan, Gyeongnam, and Jeonnam work together by leveraging each region’s strengths, the southern coastal zone will not only realize maritime autonomy but also emerge as a new national growth axis.”

 

He added, “Busan will take the lead in this era of maritime autonomy, using its accumulated policy expertise to build a strategic partnership with Gyeongnam and Jeonnam.”
