[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산광역시교육청은 명지국제신도시 2단계 지역의 첫 학교인 가칭 ‘명지6유치원’, ‘명지6초등학교’, ‘명지4중학교’ 설립계획이 교육부 중앙투자심사를 최종 통과했다고 밝혔다.  

시교육청은 명지국제신도시 2단계 입주 시기에 맞춰 학생들을 적기에 배치하고, 교육 공백이 발생하지 않도록 학교 설립에 대한 준비를 지속해 왔다.  

이번 ‘2025년 정기 4차 중앙투자심사’ 통과로 명지6유치원은 4,977㎡ 부지에 특수 2학급을 포함한 18학급 규모로, 명지6초등학교는 16,738㎡ 부지에 특수 2학급을 포함한 44학급 규모로 지어질 예정이다. 명지4중학교는 13,267㎡ 부지에 특수 1학급을 포함한 25학급 규모로 신축된다. 세 학교 모두 2029년 3월 개교를 목표로 하고 있다.  

명지국제신도시는 동북아 중심 국제업무 신도시 조성과 쾌적한 정주환경 확보를 목표로 추진 중인 사업으로, 총 2만8,602세대·수용 인구 7만5,986명 규모로 계획됐다. 현재 1·2단계로 나눠 개발이 진행 중이다.

1단계는 2015년부터 공동주택 1만6,775세대가 입주를 마쳐 유치원 6개원, 초등학교 5개교, 중학교와 고등학교 각 2개교가 운영되고 있다. 2단계는 9,989세대를 개발하는 사업으로, 2029년 첫 입주가 시작될 예정이다.  

김석준 부산교육감은 “명지국제신도시 2단계의 첫 입주가 2029년부터 본격화됨에 따라 지역 학생들이 학교가 없어 불편을 겪는 일이 없도록 선제적으로 준비해 왔다”며 “2단계 내 학교들이 차질 없이 개교할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

-Approval Granted for Myeongji 6 Kindergarten, Myeongji 6 Elementary, and Myeongji 4 Middle School 

The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, headed by Superintendent Kim Seok‑jun, announced on October 27 that plans to establish three new schools—the tentatively named Myeongji 6 Kindergarten, Myeongji 6 Elementary School, and Myeongji 4 Middle School—have received final approval from the Ministry of Education’s Central Investment Review Committee.  

The office has been preparing to open the new schools in line with the occupancy schedule of Myeongji International City’s Phase 2 development to ensure that no gaps occur in student placement or educational services.  

Following the approval at the “2025 4th Regular Central Investment Review,” the new schools are all slated to open in March 2029. Myeongji 6 Kindergarten will be built on a 4,977‑square‑meter site with 18 classes, including two special‑education classes. Myeongji 6 Elementary School will occupy 16,738 square meters with 44 classes, also including two for special‑needs students, while Myeongji 4 Middle School will be constructed on 13,267 square meters with 25 classes, including one special‑education class.  

Myeongji District is being developed as a Northeast Asian international business hub and high‑quality residential area. The city plan envisions 28,602 households with an estimated population of 75,986, divided into two construction phases.

Phase 1, launched in 2015, currently accommodates 16,775 households and operates six kindergartens, five elementary schools, and two each of middle and high schools. 

Phase 2—developing 9,989 households—is scheduled to begin occupancy in 2029.  

Superintendent Kim said, “As the first residents of Myeongji International City Phase 2 begin moving in from 2029, we have taken proactive steps to ensure that students will not face inconvenience due to a shortage of schools. We will continue doing our utmost to ensure that all schools within Phase 2 open on schedule without any setbacks.”
