[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시가 국민의힘 중앙당에 가덕도신공항 조속 건설과 글로벌허브도시특별법 제정 등 지역 핵심 현안에 대한 적극적인 지원을 요청했다.

부산시는 4일 오후 경남도청에서 경상남도, 울산시와 함께 국민의힘 중앙당이 주최한 ‘지역민생 예산정책협의회’에 참석해 주요 지역 현안과 내년도 국비 확보 방안을 논의했다고 밝혔다. 이번 회의는 국민의힘이 예산결산특별위원회 심사를 앞두고 지역별로 순회하며 현장의 목소리를 듣기 위해 마련한 자리다.

이날 협의회에는 국민의힘 장동혁 당대표와 송언석 원내대표를 비롯해 주요 당직자 및 지역 국회의원 약 40명이 참석했다.

박형준 시장은 모두발언에서 “수도권 일극체제를 해소하고 대한민국이 직면한 구조적 문제를 해결할 새로운 성장축이 바로 부울경”이라며 “부울경을 키워내야 국가의 균형발전과 재도약이 가능하다”고 강조했다.

박 시장은 “부산은 역대 최대 규모의 투자유치와 고용 성장을 이루며 글로벌 도시로 도약하고 있다. 이를 바탕으로 외국인 관광객이 올해 370만 명을 돌파할 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.

이어 “부산이 글로벌 해양허브도시로 자리매김하기 위해서는 글로벌허브도시특별법 제정, 한국산업은행 이전, 가덕도신공항 재입찰의 신속 추진이 필수적”이라며 “절차상 아무 문제도 없는데 지연되고 있어 시민들의 실망이 큰 만큼, 중앙당의 전폭적인 지원이 필요하다”고 요청했다.

이날 협의회에서는 ▲가덕도신공항 조속 건설 및 적기 개항 ▲부산글로벌허브도시 조성 특별법 제정 ▲해양수산부 및 해양공공기관 통합이전 ▲해운기업 본사 부산 이전 ▲공공기관 재배치로 국가균형발전 선도 ▲조각투자 장외거래소 부산 설립 등 주요 지역 현안을 논의했다.

또한 내년도 국비 확보 대상 사업으로 ▲낙동강 유역 안전한 먹는 물 공급체계 구축 ▲차세대 항공 기체부품 첨단제조 실증지원 기반 조성 ▲자율주행 기반 스마트항만 모빌리티 허브 구축 ▲극한극지산업용 화합물반도체 제조 인프라 구축 등 20개 주요 사업에 대한 협력 방안을 검토했다.

장동혁 당대표와 송언석 원내대표는 “부울경은 대한민국 산업의 심장이자 수출의 전진기지”라며 “가덕도신공항과 글로벌허브도시특별법 추진을 당이 끝까지 챙기고, 내년도 성장예산 확보에도 적극 나서겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 박 시장은 수도권과 지방의 부동산 가격 격차가 심화되면서 지역민의 상대적 박탈감과 민생경제의 어려움이 가중되고 있다며 중앙당의 적극적인 대책 마련을 요청했다. 아울러 시민 숙원사업인 낙동강 물 문제 해결의 실마리를 찾기 위한 예산 지원도 건의했다.

[Here is the full English version of the article] Busan Calls for Ruling Party’s Full Support on Gadeokdo Airport, Global Hub City Act  

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon on Tuesday urged the ruling People Power Party to speed up the construction of the Gadeokdo New Airport and enact the Global Hub City Special Act, calling the two projects essential to revitalizing the nation’s regional balance.  

The Busan Metropolitan Government said Park attended the People Power Party’s “Regional Economic and Budget Policy Council” held at the South Gyeongsang Provincial Government alongside South Gyeongsang Governor Park Wan-su and Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom. The meeting was part of the ruling party’s regional tours to gather local opinions ahead of national budget deliberations. Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk, floor leader Song Eon-seok, and about 40 lawmakers took part.  

“The Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam area is a new growth axis that can solve Korea’s structural problems caused by excessive concentration in the capital region,” Park said in his opening statement. “Developing the region into a new engine of national growth is the key to revitalizing the country.”  

He noted that Busan has achieved record-high investment and employment growth, enhancing its status as a global city. “The city is expecting to attract 3.7 million foreign visitors this year, the highest figure ever,” he said. “To transform Busan into a true global maritime hub, the Global Hub City Special Act, relocation of the Korea Development Bank, and swift re-bidding of the Gadeokdo New Airport must proceed without delay. Although there are no procedural problems, progress has been slow, leaving citizens disappointed. I ask for the strong backing of the party’s central leadership.”  

Key items discussed at the meeting included fast-tracking the Gadeokdo New Airport and ensuring its timely opening, legislating the Global Hub City Act, relocating the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and other maritime-related public institutions to Busan, attracting shipping companies’ headquarters to the city, and redistributing public institutions to reinforce balanced national development. Plans to establish an over-the-counter fractional investment exchange in Busan were also addressed.  

For the 2026 national budget, the city called for government support for 20 projects, including the establishment of a safe drinking water system for the Nakdong River basin, a next-generation aircraft component manufacturing base, an autonomous smart-port mobility hub, and infrastructure for compound semiconductors used in polar and extreme industrial environments.  

People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk and floor leader Song Eon-seok pledged full backing for the region, calling the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam area “the heart of Korea’s industry and the nation’s export engine.” They vowed to “ensure the Global Hub City Act passes the National Assembly and the Gadeokdo New Airport is completed on schedule,” while also working to secure the region’s growth-related budget items.  

Mayor Park also raised concerns over growing property price disparities between the Seoul metropolitan area and the provinces, urging the ruling party to tackle the widening gap that fuels public frustration and worsens local economic challenges. He further called for budgetary allocations to address Busan citizens’ long-standing Nakdong River water quality issue.
