[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 이재명 대통령이 내란 가담 공직자 전수조사를 지시한 가운데, 국민의힘이 “정권 비판 세력 색출과 공직사회 숙청에 불과한 공포정치”라며 강도 높게 비판했다.  

국민의힘 박성훈 수석대변인은 12일 논평을 통해 “이재명 대통령이 ‘헌법존중 정부혁신 TF’를 내세워 공직자 조사를 지시한 것은 내란 청산의 탈을 쓴 정권 비판 세력 탄압”이라며 “정권이 검찰을 장악하고 법을 왜곡한 데 이어 이제는 공직자들을 적으로 돌리고 있다”고 지적했다.  

박 수석대변인은 특히 “이 대통령이 특검에만 의존할 일이 아니라며 직접 조사 지시를 내린 순간, 인민재판식 정치가 시작됐다”며 “이재명 정권이 스스로 판사가 되었고 모든 공직자가 피고가 됐다”고 비판했다.  

그는 또 “이미 헌법재판소의 파면 결정과 대통령 당선으로 헌법적·정치적 결론이 난 사안을 반복적으로 꺼내 들며 ‘내란 타령’을 이어가는 건 명백한 물타기”라며 “부동산 정책 실패, 관세 협상 논란, 대장동 항소 포기 등으로 인한 정권 위기를 덮기 위한 정치적 수단”이라고 주장했다.  

문재인 정부의 ‘적폐 청산’ 사례를 언급하며 그는 “정치 보복 논란과 공직사회의 위축, 사회 분열 심화 등 폐해가 정권 교체의 원인이 됐다”며 “이재명 정부가 그 실패를 되풀이하고 있다”고 말했다.  

박 대변인은 “이재명 정권의 내란 몰이는 법치가 아니라 공포정치와 증오통치”라며 “헌법 존중 TF라는 이름을 내걸었지만 실상은 정권 방어용 TF일 뿐”이라고 강조했다.  

이어 “정권이 국민을 상대로 공포 정치를 벌이면 국민은 반드시 투표로 응징한다”며 “국민의힘은 이재명 정부의 내란 몰이 정치에 단호히 맞서 법치와 상식을 지켜내겠다”고 밝혔다.  

이날 국민의힘 공식 논평에서 박성훈 수석대변인은 이 대통령의 행보를 “정치적 사냥이자 헌정질서 파괴 행위”로 규정하며 “국가 통합이 아닌 정권 존속을 위한 행위”라고 비판했다.

President Lee Jae-myung’s order for a full-scale investigation into civil servants allegedly involved in the insurrection has sparked fierce criticism from the People Power Party, which denounced the move as a “fear-based political purge targeting dissenters.”

In an official statement on Wednesday, PPP senior spokesperson Park Sung-hoon said, “President Lee’s directive to the so-called Government Reform Task Force for Constitutional Integrity is nothing more than a crackdown disguised as a purge of those accused of rebellion.” He added, “After seizing control of the prosecution and distorting the law, the administration is now turning public officials into its enemies.”

Park sharply criticized Lee’s decision to personally order the investigation instead of relying solely on a special prosecutor, calling it “the beginning of show-trial politics.” He said, “The Lee administration has made itself the judge, turning every public servant into a defendant.”

Referring to the Constitutional Court’s dismissal ruling and the presidential election victory as having already brought constitutional and political closure to the matter, Park accused the president of “rehashing the rebellion narrative” as a “clear diversionary tactic” to deflect from “failures in real estate policy, the tariff negotiation controversy, and the Daechi-dong appeal withdrawal.”

Drawing a comparison to the Moon Jae-in administration’s “eradication of deep-rooted evils” initiative, he warned that “political retribution, demoralization in the civil service, and deepened social division ultimately caused that government’s downfall,” adding, “Lee’s government is repeating that same failure.”

“The Lee administration’s rebellion accusations represent not the rule of law but politics of fear and hate,” Park said. “The so-called Constitutional Integrity Task Force is merely a shield for regime defense.”

He concluded, “When a government rules by fear, the people will inevitably pass judgment at the ballot box. The People Power Party will firmly resist the Lee administration’s rebellion witch-hunt and defend the rule of law and common sense.”
