도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 11일(현지시간) 42일간 이어진 사상 최장기 민주당 성향 연방 정부 '셧 다운(일시적 업무정지)'이 종료 수순에 들어간 것 관련해 "공화당에 큰 승리"라고 밝혔다.

미 '폴리티코' '액시오스' 등에 따르면 트럼프 대통령은 이날 '재향 군인의 날'을 맞아 워싱턴 DC 인근 버지니아주 알링턴 국립묘지에서 열린 기념식 연설을 통해 "(공화당 마이크 존슨 하원의장은) 언젠가 매우 위대한 인물로 기억될 것”이라며 “당신(존슨)·존(공화당 튠 상원 원내대표)·모두에 아주 큰 승리”라고 말했다.
