[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산경찰청이 국제특송을 이용해 해외에서 들여온 케타민을 온라인으로 판매한 조직 등 40명을 검거했다. 이들은 베트남산 향신료 소스병에 케타민을 숨겨 들여온 뒤, 텔레그램을 이용한 비대면 방식으로 유통시킨 것으로 드러났다.  

부산경찰청은 2024년 1월부터 지난 8월까지 베트남에서 케타민 약 2kg을 밀반입한 뒤 판매·투약한 피의자 총 40명을 검거하고, 이 중 7명을 구속했다고 밝혔다. 경찰은 이 과정에서 케타민 1,041g, 필로폰 34g, 액상대마 24ml 등 시가 약 4억5천만원 상당의 마약을 압수했다.  

경찰에 따르면, 밀반입책은 30대 외국인 남성으로, 베트남에서 향신료가 든 소스병에 케타민을 숨긴 뒤 과자 등과 함께 포장해 국제특송으로 들여왔다. 이후 국내에서 이를 공터에 묻어두고, 판매조직이 직접 수거해 가는 방식으로 유통했다.  

20~30대 판매책들은 텔레그램에 비공개 판매채널과 후기방을 운영하며, 가상자산을 통해 대금을 받고 아파트 단자함이나 화단 등 특정 장소에 마약을 숨겨두는 ‘던지기’ 수법으로 거래했다. 경찰은 이들을 검거하는 과정에서 필로폰과 액상대마를 추가로 압수했다.  

이들은 전국 870여 곳에 필로폰 500g, 케타민 200g, 액상대마 70여 개를 숨겨 판매한 것으로 조사됐다. 범행을 통해 챙긴 범죄수익은 약 3억2천만원 상당으로 추정된다.

또한 경찰은 온라인을 통해 마약을 구매·투약한 20대부터 60대까지의 피의자 31명을 추가로 검거했으며, 직업은 무직자부터 일반 회사원, 유흥업 종사자 등 다양했다. 이 중 초범도 7명으로 확인됐다.  

부산경찰청 마약범죄수사대는 “국민이 마약범죄로부터 안전할 수 있도록 국제 특송과 온라인 유통망 등을 악용한 비대면 마약사범 수사를 지속할 방침”이라며 “점조직화되고 있는 마약류 범죄의 근절에 총력을 기울이겠다”고 밝혔다.  

부산경찰은 내년 1월 말까지 마약류 범죄 집중 단속 기간을 운영하며, 유통 경로 추적과 연계 조직 검거에 수사력을 집중할 계획이다.

-Busan police seize narcotics worth 450 million won hidden in Vietnamese sauce bottles  

The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency has arrested 40 people involved in smuggling ketamine into South Korea through international express delivery and distributing it online via Telegram. The suspects concealed the drugs inside Vietnamese sauce bottles and used non-face-to-face transactions to sell them.  

According to the police, between January 2024 and August 2025, a total of 40 suspects—including one smuggler, eight online dealers, and 31 purchasers or users—were apprehended. Seven of them were formally arrested. The seizure included 1,041 grams of ketamine, 34 grams of methamphetamine, and 24 milliliters of liquid cannabis, with an estimated value of about 450 million won.  

The main smuggler, a foreign man in his 30s, allegedly hid ketamine in bottles filled with spice sauce in Vietnam and mailed them to Korea along with snacks. He then buried the parcels in remote open areas, allowing dealers to retrieve them later for distribution.  

Dealers in their 20s and 30s are accused of operating private Telegram channels and chatrooms to sell narcotics to verified users. Payments were made in cryptocurrency, and the dealers used a “drop” or “throwing” method, leaving the drugs in apartment mailboxes, stairwells, or flowerbeds for customers to pick up. Police confiscated additional methamphetamine and liquid cannabis during their arrests.  

Investigators found that the group had hidden narcotics—including 500 grams of methamphetamine, 200 grams of ketamine, and 70 vials of liquid cannabis—at about 870 locations nationwide, earning criminal proceeds of approximately 320 million won.  

Police also arrested 31 users aged from their 20s to 60s, including unemployed individuals, office workers, and entertainment industry employees. Seven of them were first-time offenders.  

The Busan Narcotics Crime Investigation Division stated that it will continue investigating smuggling routes and non-face-to-face drug crimes using online platforms to ensure public safety.

The agency has designated a special crackdown period on drug crimes from August 18, 2025, to January 31, 2026, and plans to intensify efforts to track and dismantle illicit drug networks.
