[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산의 겨울을 따뜻하게 녹일 ‘사랑의 김치나눔 한마당’이 올해도 열렸다. 부산시와 지역 자원봉사자, 기업들이 한자리에 모여 31톤 분량의 김치를 담그며 어려운 이웃에게 온정을 전했다.  

부산시는 19일 오전 벡스코 제2전시장 3층에서 ‘2025 사랑의 김치나눔 한마당’을 열고 부산 전역의 이웃 6천200여 세대에 김치를 전달했다.  

올해로 15회를 맞은 이번 행사는 시가 주최하고 부산시자원봉사센터와 16개 구·군자원봉사센터, ㈜벡스코가 공동 주관한 부산 지역 최대 규모의 김치나눔 축제다.  

행사에는 박형준 부산시장과 안성민 부산시의회 의장, 후원 기업 및 기관 임직원, 자원봉사단체 대표 등 1천여 명이 참석했다. 참가자들은 현장에서 함께 김치를 담그며 1만여 포기, 총 31톤 분량의 김치를 완성했다.  

올해는 부산을 대표하는 40개 기업·기관이 총 2억여 원을 후원하며 나눔의 의미를 더했다. 완성된 김치는 홀로 사는 어르신 등 지원이 필요한 이웃 6천200세대에 가구당 5kg씩 전달되며, 지난해보다 700세대가 늘었다.

행사장에서는 부산시자원봉사센터 홍보대사 ‘갈매기의 꿈’ 회원 7명이 참여한 ‘온기 나눔’ 캠페인도 함께 진행됐다. 이 캠페인은 사회적·경제적 어려움을 겪는 이웃을 격려하고 시민 참여로 따뜻한 공동체 문화를 확산하기 위한 취지다.  

참가자들을 위한 푸드트럭도 운영됐다. 해운대구자원봉사센터는 시래기국밥을, 북구자원봉사센터는 따뜻한 커피와 차를 제공해 봉사자들에게 잠시나마 휴식을 선사했다.  

박형준 시장은 “시민들의 참여와 기업의 후원으로 더 많은 세대에 ‘사랑의 김치’를 나눌 수 있었다”며 “이 행사가 ‘나눔이 일상이 되는 도시 부산’을 대표하는 나눔 축제로 자리 잡길 바란다”고 말했다.

Busan’s signature kimchi-sharing festival returned this week, bringing warmth to the city’s chilly winter. City officials, volunteers, and corporate donors came together to make 31 tons of kimchi for neighbors in need.  

The Busan Metropolitan Government hosted the “2025 Love Kimchi Sharing Festival” at BEXCO’s second exhibition hall on Wednesday morning, distributing the finished kimchi to about 6,200 households across the city.  

Now in its 15th year, the event is jointly organized by the Busan Volunteer Center, 16 district and county volunteer centers, and BEXCO. It is considered the city’s largest kimchi-sharing campaign.  

About 1,000 people, including Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon, Busan City Council Chairman Ahn Sung-min, representatives of sponsoring companies and organizations, and volunteer groups, took part in the event. Participants worked side by side to prepare more than 10,000 heads of kimchi, totaling 31 tons.  

Forty local companies and institutions donated about 200 million won (about $145,000) to support the effort. The kimchi will be packed into 5-kilogram portions and delivered to single elderly residents and other underprivileged households. The number of beneficiary families rose by 700 from last year.  

The event also featured an “Onki Sharing” campaign led by seven members of “Seagull’s Dream,” honorary ambassadors of the Busan Volunteer Center, to encourage citizen participation and solidarity with those facing economic hardships.  

Food trucks were set up to serve volunteers, with the Haeundae Volunteer Center offering radish-leaf soup and the Buk-gu Center providing coffee and tea to help participants stay warm.  

“Thanks to citizens’ participation and corporate support, we were able to share more ‘kimchi of love’ this year,” Mayor Park said. “I hope this event continues to grow as one of Busan’s signature initiatives promoting a culture of everyday sharing.”
