[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 수영만 요트경기장이 40년 만에 전면 재개발을 시작하며 해양레저산업 도약의 새로운 전환점을 맞았다.

2008년부터 이어진 민간투자사업이 여러 난관을 넘어 정상화에 성공하며 본격적인 공사 단계에 돌입했다. 2027년 말 준공 되면, 최신 계류시설과 문화 상업 복합시설이 조성돼 시민과 관광객 모두가 바다를 즐기는 해양문화 명소가 될 전망이다.

부산시는 24일 오전 11시 해운대구 우동에 위치한 수영만 요트경기장에서 수영만 요트경기장 재개발 민간투자사업 착공식을 개최했다. 이번 착공식은 1986년 경기장 건립 이후 40년 만에 진행되는 전면 재개발의 신호탄으로 부산 해양레저산업의 도약을 상징하는 의미 있는 행사다.

착공식은 국민의례와 내빈소개를 비롯해 사업소개 영상 상영과 기념사 축사 기념 세리머니 순으로 약 40분간 진행됐다. 행사에는 박형준 부산시장과 안성민 부산시의회 의장 주진우 국회의원을 비롯해 사업시행자와 관계자 등 200여 명이 참석했다.

이번 재개발 사업은 2008년 민간투자사업 제안 접수를 시작으로 행정 절차와 협의 법적 쟁점 등 복잡한 문제를 해결하며 오랜 기간 추진돼 온 장기 프로젝트다. 부산시는 사업시행자인 아이파크마리나와 지속적인 협의를 이어오며 사업 정상화를 이끌어냈고 이번 착공으로 사업이 본 궤도에 올랐다.

총사업비는 1584억 원 규모이며 재개발 구역에는 최신식 계류시설 567척을 비롯해 요트전시장 요트클럽하우스 복합문화 상업시설 시민친수공간 등이 조성된다. 2027년 말 준공을 목표로 공사가 진행된다.

부산시는 이번 재개발을 통해 세계 최고 수준의 마리나 시설을 갖추는 것은 물론 시민과 관광객이 함께 즐길 수 있는 해양문화 복합공간을 조성해 지역경제 활성화와 일자리 창출에도 기여할 계획이다. 또한 국제 요트대회 유치와 해양레저 산업의 전진기지로서의 위상 강화도 기대하고 있다.

박형준 시장은 새로운 수영만 요트경기장이 해양레저 관광 일자리를 창출하고 인근 상권을 활성화하며 전시복합산업과 연계해 지역경제 전반에 긍정적인 파급 효과를 가져올 것이라고 강조했다. 이어 시민이 바다를 누리는 열린 해양문화 복합공간으로서 부산의 관광과 해양레저 위상을 한 단계 더 높이는 데 최선을 다하겠다고 밝혔다.

The Suyoung Bay Yacht Marina in Busan has begun its first full redevelopment in forty years, marking a new turning point for the citys marine leisure industry.

The private investment project, first proposed in 2008, has finally entered the full construction phase after overcoming various administrative and legal challenges. Once completed at the end of 2027, the site will feature state of the art mooring facilities and cultural and commercial complexes, transforming the area into a marine cultural landmark for both citizens and visitors.

The City of Busan held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Suyoung Bay Yacht Marina redevelopment project at 11 a.m. on the 24th at the marina in U dong Haeundae gu. The ceremony marks the official start of the first large scale redevelopment since the marina was built for the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympics and is regarded as a meaningful milestone for the advancement of Busans marine leisure sector.

The ceremony lasted about forty minutes and included the national ceremony an introduction of guests a project presentation video congratulatory remarks and a commemorative performance. Approximately two hundred guests attended including Busan Mayor Park Heong joon Busan City Council Chairperson Ahn Sung min National Assembly member Joo Jin woo and officials from the project developer.

The redevelopment project has been a long term undertaking since private investment proposals were first submitted in 2008. After years of administrative processes consultations and legal disputes the city and the project developer Ipark Marina succeeded in normalizing the project leading to the start of construction.

With a total investment of 158 point 4 billion won the redevelopment will include 567 modern berths along with a yacht exhibition hall a yacht clubhouse commercial and cultural facilities and public waterfront spaces. Construction is planned for completion by the end of 2027.

The city expects the redevelopment to establish world class marina facilities while creating a marine cultural complex open to both citizens and tourists. The project is also anticipated to revitalize the local economy create new jobs and strengthen Busans standing as a forward base for international yacht competitions and the marine leisure industry.

Mayor Park emphasized that the new Suyoung Bay Yacht Marina will generate jobs in the marine leisure tourism sector invigorate surrounding commercial districts and create positive ripple effects across the regional economy through its connection with the MICE industry. He added that the city will strive to elevate Busans status in tourism and marine leisure by developing the marina into an open cultural space where citizens can fully enjoy the ocean.
