[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 ‘2025 부산 해양·금융위크(BMFW)’를 25~ 26일까지 롯데호텔 부산에서 개최하고, 글로벌 해양금융 중심지로의 도약을 위한 논의의 장을 연다.

 

이번 행사에는 금융감독원, 한국해양진흥공사 등 주요 해양·금융 기관이 참여하고 국내외 전문가 350여 명이 참석해 최신 해양금융 동향을 공유한다.

 

해양·금융기관 합동 행사… 350여 명 참석

올해로 5회째를 맞은 ‘2025 부산 해양·금융위크’는 부산시, 금융감독원, 한국해양진흥공사, 부산국제금융진흥원이 공동 주최하고 부산국제금융진흥원이 주관한다. 각 기관별로 진행되던 해양금융 관련 행사를 하나로 통합해 시너지 효과를 높였다.

 

행사에는 이준승 부산시 행정부시장을 비롯해 이찬진 금융감독원장, 안병길 한국해양진흥공사 사장, 이명호 부산국제금융진흥원장, 류동근 한국해양대학교 총장 등 주요 해양·금융기관 관계자와 금융권 인사 총 350여 명이 참석한다.

 

정은보 한국거래소 이사장 기조연설… 25일 공동 개막식 개최

공동 개막식은 25일 오전 11시에 열렸으며, 개·환영사에 이어 정은보 한국거래소 이사장의 기조연설이 진행됐다. 참석자들은 해양금융 중심지로서 부산의 가능성과 발전 방향에 대해 의견을 나눴다.

 

부산 해양금융컨벤션’에서 금융 중심지 전략 논의

같은 날 열린 금융감독원의 ‘해양금융컨벤션’은 ‘매리타임 캐피탈 허브: 부산에서 여는 해양금융과 자본시장의 미래’를 주제로 두 개의 세션으로 구성됐다.

첫 번째 세션에서는 부산을 해양 특화 금융중심지로 육성하기 위한 전략이 발표됐으며, 두 번째 세션에서는 조선·해운산업의 기업가치 제고 방안을 비롯해 부산형 금융중심지 조성을 위한 전문가 패널토론이 이어졌다.

 

‘2025 바다(BADA) 콘퍼런스’… 글로벌 시장 전망 공유

26일에는 한국해양진흥공사가 주관하는 ‘2025 바다(BADA) 콘퍼런스’가 개최된다. 글로벌 세션에서는 세계 거시경제 흐름과 물류·인프라 트렌드, 컨테이너선 시장 전망 등 글로벌 해운·물류 시장의 주요 이슈를 다룬다. 국내외 전문가들이 한자리에 모여 국제 시장 변화와 해양금융 전망을 분석할 예정이다.

 

이준승 부산시 행정부시장은 “부산 해양금융위크를 통해 국내외 석학과 전문가들이 최신 해양금융과 글로벌 해운·물류 시장 전망을 공유하게 돼 뜻깊다”며 “해양산업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 실질적 논의가 이뤄질 것”이라고 말했다.

 

이어 “이번 행사에서 나온 전문적 제안은 부산이 ‘바다와 자본이 만나는 글로벌 해양금융 허브’로 도약하는 데 중요한 발판이 될 것”이라며, 해양금융중심지 조성을 위한 정책적·기반시설적 지원을 지속적으로 확대하겠다고 강조했다.

The fifth annual Busan Maritime & Finance Week is jointly hosted by the city of Busan, the Financial Supervisory Service, the Korea Ocean Business Corporation and the Busan Finance Center. The event integrates each institution’s individual maritime finance programs into a single, large-scale gathering.

 

More than 350 participants — including Busan Vice Mayor Lee Joon-seung, Financial Supervisory Service Gov. Lee Chan-jin, Korea Ocean Business Corporation President Ahn Byung-gil, Busan Finance Center CEO Lee Myung-ho and Korea Maritime & Ocean University President Ryu Dong-geun — are scheduled to attend.

 

Opening Ceremony Features Keynote by Korea Exchange Chairman

The joint opening ceremony began at 11 a.m. Tuesday with welcoming remarks followed by a keynote address from Jeong Eun-bo, chairman of the Korea Exchange. Officials and executives from academia, the shipping industry and financial institutions gathered to mark the start of the week-long discussions on maritime finance and global market trends.

 

Maritime Finance Convention Explores Future of Capital Markets

The Financial Supervisory Service is hosting the Maritime Finance Convention on Tuesday under the theme “Maritime Capital Hub: The Future of Maritime Finance and Capital Markets from Busan.”

 

The first session focuses on strategies to strengthen Busan as a specialized maritime finance center. The second session addresses ways to enhance corporate value in the shipbuilding and shipping industries and includes a panel discussion on revitalizing capital markets to support the maritime finance ecosystem.

 

BADA Conference to Examine Global Economic and Shipping Trends

On Wednesday, the Korea Ocean Business Corporation will hold the 2025 BADA Conference, featuring a global session that examines trends in the global macroeconomy, logistics and infrastructure, as well as forecasts for the container shipping market. Experts from academia and the industry will share insights into the direction of global maritime finance and shipping.

 

Busan Aims to Strengthen Role as Maritime Finance Hub

Vice Mayor Lee Joon-seung said the event offers an invaluable opportunity for scholars and industry leaders to exchange views on maritime finance and global shipping. He added that Busan expects substantive discussions on strengthening the competitiveness of the maritime industry and advancing a “Busan-style maritime finance hub model.”

 

He emphasized that the insights and proposals shared during the week will serve as a foundation for Busan’s growth as a global hub “where ocean and capital meet,” noting that the city will continue expanding infrastructure and policies needed to foster a strong maritime finance ecosystem.
