[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산경찰청이 25일 부산을 방문한 베트남 호찌민시공안청 대표단과 회담을 갖고 온라인 스캠, 마약범죄, 국외도피사범 검거 등 국제범죄 대응을 위한 공조 강화 방안을 논의했다. 양 기관은 재외국민 보호 체계를 강화하고 실질적 정보 공유를 확대하기로 뜻을 모았다.

2014년 업무협약 이후 10년째 지속되는 정기 협력

부산경찰청과 호찌민시공안청은 2014년 업무협약 체결 이후 매년 상호 방문을 이어오며 치안 협력 관계를 꾸준히 발전시켜 왔다. 이번 방문도 협력 기반을 한층 공고히 하기 위한 차원에서 추진됐다.대표단은 ‘쩐 티 낌 풍’ 호찌민시공안청 부청장을 단장으로 구성됐다.

온라인 스캠·마약범죄·도피사범 대응 등 현안 집중 논의

이번 회담에서 양측은 재외국민 보호를 위한 경찰 협력 강화, 마약 범죄 차단을 위한 정보교류 확대, 국외도피사범 검거 및 송환 협조 등 주요 현안에 대해 심도 있는 논의를 진행했다. 특히 최근 증가하는 온라인 스캠 피해와 국제 조직범죄의 확산에 효과적으로 대응하기 위해 고도화된 정보 공유 체계와 신속한 공조 메커니즘을 구축하는 데 의견을 모았다.

부산 첨단 치안 인프라 시찰

호찌민시공안청 대표단은 25일부터 28일까지 4박 5일간 부산에 머물며 112치안종합상황실, 교통정보센터, 과학수사대, 경찰특공대 등을 방문할 예정이다.

부산경찰청은 첨단 상황 관리 체계와 과학수사 기술, 대테러 대응 역량 등을 소개하며 양측의 치안 협력을 확대할 계획이다.

엄성규 부산경찰청장 직무대리는 “호찌민시공안청과의 협력은 양국 국민의 안전 확보와 국제범죄 대응에 매우 중요한 의미를 갖는다”며 최근 호찌민시에서 한국인이 피살된 사건에 대해 공안당국의 신속하고 엄정한 수사를 요청했다. 양측은 재외국민의 안전 확보를 최우선 과제로 인식하며, 사건 처리 과정에서도 긴밀한 공조를 이어가기로 했다.

Busan Metropolitan Police Agency held a working meeting on Tuesday with a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department to discuss deeper cooperation on online scam prevention, drug crime response and the arrest of fugitives abroad. The two agencies agreed to strengthen information sharing and enhance joint efforts to protect citizens and respond to emerging international crime threats.

Since signing a cooperation agreement in 2014, Busan police and Ho Chi Minh City police have maintained regular exchanges and annual visits, steadily expanding their partnership. This week’s meeting continued that tradition, with the delegation led by Deputy Chief Tran Thi Kim Phung visiting Busan to reinforce practical collaboration.

During the meeting, the agencies discussed cooperation measures to better protect Korean nationals overseas, expand intelligence sharing on drug trafficking networks and reinforce joint operations to locate and repatriate fugitives. Both sides emphasized the growing need for coordinated action as online scam operations and internationally organized crime groups become more sophisticated.

The visiting delegation is in Busan for five days, from Nov. 25 to 28, and will tour key police facilities including the 112 emergency control center, the traffic information center, the forensic science division and the SWAT unit. The visits will allow the delegation to observe Busan’s advanced emergency response systems and public safety infrastructure.

Acting Commissioner Eom Seong-gyu of the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency said cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City police is crucial for ensuring the safety of citizens of both countries and for responding effectively to international crime. He also asked for swift and thorough investigation into the recent case of a Korean national found murdered in Ho Chi Minh City. Both sides agreed that protecting citizens abroad remains their top priority and committed to maintaining close cooperation throughout the investigation and beyond.
