[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시가 부산지방중소벤처기업청, 부산벤처기업협회와 함께 27일 오후 남구 그랜드모먼트 유스호스텔에서 2025 벤처인의 날을 개최했다.

 

이번 행사는 지역 우수 벤처기업인을 시상하고 기업 간 교류를 촉진해 벤처 생태계의 결속력을 높이기 위한 자리로, 박형준 부산시장과 강기성 부산지방중소벤처기업청장, 정현돈 부산벤처기업협회 회장을 비롯해 120여 명의 벤처 기업인들이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

 

올해 시상식에서는 부산벤처기업인상, 신기술혁신상, 벤처기업육성유공 등 다양한 분야에서 성과를 인정받은 지역 기업인과 관계자들이 선정됐다.

 

부산벤처기업인상은 한국리포좀 김안드레 대표, 아이바이오코리아 양재욱 대표, 이지지오 김정수 대표, 소무나 송종원 대표, 샌드버그 배호진 대표 등 다섯 명에게 돌아갔다. 수상자는 부산광역시 기업인 예우 및 기업활동 촉진에 관한 조례에 따라 향후 3년간 우수기업인 인증서 수여, 중소기업 운전자금과 육성자금, 신용보증 특례지원 등을 받는다.

벤처기업육성유공 시장 표창은 부산울산경남여성벤처협회 전혜정 회장과 경남정보대학교 임준우 산학부총장이 선정됐다. 신기술혁신상은 엠바스 김정현 대표가 부산시장상을, 쿨스 김효열 대표, 가주정보기술 심원화 대표, 빛가람시스템 최재영 대표가 중소벤처기업부 장관상을 수상했다.

 

벤처 30주년 기념공로상은 전자신문 임동식 동남권 취재본부장, 부경대학교 이운식 기술경영전문대학원장, 부산시의회 김형철 의원, 부산연합기술지주 최수호 본부장이 벤처기업협회장상을 받았다.

 

정현돈 부산벤처기업협회장은 수상자들에게 축하를 전하며 지난 5년간 벤처기업협회 부산지회 통합에 힘써준 양 협회 회원사에 감사의 뜻을 전했다. 그는 "대한민국 벤처 30주년을 맞아 부산벤처기업협회가 지역 벤처 생태계에 활력을 더하고 부산 벤처인이 함께 도전하고 혁신하는 기반을 강화하겠다"고 밝혔다.

 

박형준 부산시장은 “부산의 미래는 혁신기업과 벤처기업, 스타트업에 달려 있다”며 부산의 기술기업들이 세계 시장에서 도약할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.

 

박 시장은  “올해 수상한 기업들은 AI, 바이오 등 부산이 전략적으로 육성하고 있는 분야에서 탁월한 기술력을 보유한 곳들”이라며 “이들이 머지않아 유니콘 기업으로 성장하기를 기대한다”고 말했다.

 

박 시장은 부산 경제의 중심축으로 벤처·혁신기업의 역할을 강조했다. “부산은 대기업은 적지만 혁신 강소기업과 중견기업들이 지역 경제를 이끌고 있다”며 “이들의 성과 덕분에 올해 상용 근로자 수가 100만 명을 돌파했고 실업률도 전국 최저 수준인 2.8%를 기록했다”고 밝혔다.

이어 그는 “시장 취임 이후 8천억 원이 넘는 지역 중심 벤처펀드를 조성했다”며 “미래성장 벤처펀드, 부산 혁신 스케일업 펀드 등을 통해 지역기업이 직접적인 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 하겠다”고 설명했다.

 

올해 CES(국제가전박람회)에서 부산 기업 6곳이 혁신상을 수상하고, 내년 CES에서는 13개 기업이 수상 예정이라는 점도 언급했다. 박 시장은 “부산 혁신기업의 품질과 영향력이 세계적으로 확산되고 있으며, 글로벌 시장에서의 성과가 현실로 나타나고 있다”고 평가했다.

 

박 시장은 “수도권에 비해 VC 및 기술 인력의 인프라는 아직 부족하지만, 최근 빠르게 성장하고 있다”며 “부산시가 관련 기관들과 협력해 벤처 생태계를 확실히 뿌리내리도록 적극적으로 지원하겠다”고 강조했다.

 

그는 축사를 마무리하며 “부산의 새로운 경제는 혁신기업들이 이끌어갈 것이며, 시에서도 끝까지 함께하겠다”고 말했다.

Busan Metropolitan City, in cooperation with the Busan Regional Office of SMEs and Startups and the Busan Venture Business Association, held the '2025 Venture Entrepreneurs’ Day* on November 27 at 5 p.m. at the Grand Moment Youth Hostel.  

 

The event aimed to honor outstanding local venture entrepreneurs, promote networking among companies, and strengthen the cohesion of the region’s venture ecosystem. More than 120 entrepreneurs attended, including Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon, Busan Regional Office of SMEs and Startups Director Kang Ki-sung, and Busan Venture Business Association President Jung Hyun-don.  

 

This year’s awards recognized entrepreneurs and professionals who have achieved excellence in various fields such as the Busan Venture Entrepreneur Award, the New Technology Innovation Award, and the Contribution to Venture Business Development Award.  

 

The Busan Venture Entrepreneur Award went to five business leaders: Kim Andre, CEO of Korea Liposome; Yang Jae-wook, CEO of iBioKorea; Kim Jung-soo, CEO of EasyGeo; Song Jong-won, CEO of Somuna; and Bae Ho-jin, CEO of Sandberg. In accordance with the Busan Ordinance on the Courtesy and Promotion of Business Activities for Entrepreneurs, awardees will receive a three-year certification as distinguished entrepreneurs, along with benefits such as access to business operation and development funds and special credit guarantee support.  

 

The Mayor’s Award for Contribution to Venture Business Development was presented to Jeon Hye-jung, Chairwoman of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Women’s Venture Association, and Lim Joon-woo, Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology. The New Technology Innovation Awards went to Kim Jung-hyun, CEO of MBAS (Busan Mayor’s Award), and to CoolS CEO Kim Hyo-yeol, Gaju Information Technology CEO Shim Won-hwa, and Bitgaram System CEO Choi Jae-young (Minister of SMEs and Startups Awards).  

 

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Korea’s venture industry, the Venture 30th Anniversary Contribution Awards were conferred on Lim Dong-sik, Head of the Southeast Regional Bureau of the *Electronic Times*; Lee Woon-sik, Dean of the Graduate School of Technology Management at Pukyong National University; Kim Hyung-chul, Busan City Council member; and Choi Soo-ho, Head of Busan United Technology Holdings.  

 

Busan Venture Business Association President Jung Hyun-don congratulated the awardees and expressed gratitude to association members for their efforts over the past five years in unifying the Busan chapter. “Marking the 30th anniversary of Korea’s venture industry, the Busan Venture Business Association will continue to energize the regional venture ecosystem and strengthen the foundation for Busan’s entrepreneurs to challenge and innovate together,” he said.  

 

Mayor Park Heong-joon highlighted the crucial role of innovation-driven companies in the city’s future. “The future of Busan lies in innovative companies, venture firms, and startups,” he said. “The city will provide active support so that Busan’s technology-based companies can make their mark in the global market.”  

 

He added, “This year’s award-winning companies possess outstanding technological capabilities in strategically fostered sectors such as AI and biotechnology. We look forward to seeing them grow into unicorn companies in the near future.”  

 

Mayor Park stressed the central role of venture and innovative enterprises in Busan’s economy. “Although Busan lacks large conglomerates, its innovative small and mid-sized companies are driving the regional economy,” he said. “Thanks to their performance, the number of regular employees surpassed 1 million this year, and Busan achieved one of the lowest unemployment rates nationwide, at 2.8%.”  

 

He also noted that since his inauguration, more than 800 billion won has been allocated to establish region-based venture funds, including the Future Growth Venture Fund and the Busan Innovation Scale-up Fund, to ensure direct benefits for local businesses. Mayor Park mentioned that Busan companies won six Innovation Awards at this year’s CES, with thirteen expected to be recognized at next year’s event. “The quality and influence of Busan’s innovative companies are expanding globally, and their achievements in the world market are becoming tangible,” he said.  

 

While acknowledging that Busan’s infrastructure for venture capital and technological talent still lags behind the Seoul metropolitan area, he emphasized rapid recent progress. “Busan City will continue to cooperate with relevant organizations to firmly establish a thriving venture ecosystem,” he declared. Concluding his remarks, Park stated, “Busan’s new economy will be led by innovative companies, and the city will stand by them every step of the way.”
