[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산경찰청은 1일부터 5일까지 191개국 2,000여명이 참여하는 ‘2025 세계도핑방지기구 총회’와 관련해, 본회의가 치러지는 해운대 벡스코를 찾아 IOC위원장 및 각국 장·차관 등 주요 참가자들의 방문에 따른 현장 안전 점검을 실시했다. 

엄성규 부산경찰청장은 행사 안전대책 등을 청취하고, 개·폐회식이 열리는 본회의장과 주요 이동로 등을 살펴본 후 경찰과 주최측의 적극적인 협력을 통해 행사가 안전하게 마무리될 수 있도록 철저한 대비를 당부했다.

부산경찰은 아시아에서는 처음 개최되는 총회인 만큼 각국 주요 인사와 참가자들에게 세계적 관광도시인 부산지역의 안전한 치안 환경을 제공하기 위해 경찰특공대와 경찰관기동대를 비롯해 총 600여 명의 경찰력을 투입하여 안전관리에 총력을 다할 방침이다.

Busan Metropolitan Police Agency carried out an on-site safety inspection at BEXCO in Haeundae, the venue for the “2025 World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Conference,” which runs from December 1 to 5 with around 2,000 participants from 191 countries, including IOC officials and ministerial-level delegates.

Commissioner Eom Sung-kyu heard briefings on safety measures and inspected the main conference hall and key transportation routes. He called for close cooperation between the police and event organizers to ensure the successful and safe operation of the conference, including the opening and closing ceremonies.

As the first WADA Conference to be held in Asia, Busan Police plan to mobilize about 600 officers, including members of the police special operations unit and mobile squads, to provide participants and international dignitaries with a secure environment befitting Busan’s status as a leading global tourist city.
