[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 3일 오후 해운대 웨스틴조선호텔 그랜드볼룸에서 ‘2026년 전략산업 선도기업 인증서 수여식’을 열고 지역 9대 전략산업을 이끌 90개 기업을 선정했다고 밝혔다.

전략산업 선도기업은 부산 산업 구조와 지역 특성에 맞춰 산업을 선도하는 대표 기업군으로, 수도권 중심의 산업 육성 체계에서 벗어나 지역 산업 경쟁력 강화를 목표로 한다. 행사에는 박형준 부산시장을 비롯해 선정 기업 대표 등 120여 명이 참석했다.

시는 지난해 ‘제6차 전략산업 육성 종합계획(2024~2028)’을 수립해 지역 산업의 중장기 발전 방향을 제시했으며, 올해부터 본격적인 지원 체계를 가동하고 있다. 부산시는 1999년 전국 최초로 ‘전략산업 육성 조례’를 제정한 이후 5년마다 마스터플랜을 수립해 산업정책의 일관성과 체계성을 이어오고 있다.

올해 선도기업 선정은 미래 신산업 육성, 주력산업 고도화, 글로벌 인프라 강화 등 3대 전략 방향에 맞춰 9개 전략산업 분야의 경쟁력과 성장 잠재력을 갖춘 기업을 중심으로 이루어졌다. 선정된 기업에는 향후 3년간 선도기업 인증이 부여되며, 자금 대출과 보증, 중소기업 운전자금, 기술개발 및 사업화 지원 등 20여 종의 지원 프로그램에서 우대 혜택을 받는다.

시는 또한 히든챔피언, 글로벌 강소기업, 월드클래스 등 성장 사다리형 기업지원 정책과의 연계를 강화해 기업이 글로벌 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있는 환경을 조성할 계획이다. 이를 통해 기술혁신 역량 강화, 수출 확대, 양질의 일자리 창출 등 지역경제 활성화로 이어질 수 있도록 정책 역량을 집중할 방침이다.

박형준 시장은 “부산을 대표하는 전략산업 선도기업으로 선정된 것을 진심으로 축하드린다”며 “부산이 미래 산업 중심의 글로벌 허브도시로 도약하기 위해서는 기업의 역량이 무엇보다 중요한 만큼, 시는 앞으로도 이들 기업의 성장을 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Busan City announced it has selected 90 companies to lead Busan's nine strategic industries as '2026 Strategic Industry Leading Companies' and will hold a '2026 Strategic Industry Leading Companies Certificate Award Ceremony' at 4:40 p.m. today (3rd) in the Grand Ballroom of The Westin Chosun Busan in Haeundae-gu.

Strategic industry leading companies represent firms spearheading the industries tailored to Busan's industrial structure and regional characteristics, breaking away from the capital region-centered growth system. The event will be attended by Mayor Park Hyung-joon and about 120 representatives from the leading companies.

The city established the 'Busan Metropolitan City 6th Strategic Industry Development Comprehensive Plan (2024-2028)' last year (2024) to outline mid- to long-term directions for local industries and has begun fully operating the strategic industry support system this year in line with the plan. Since enacting the nation's first 'Strategic Industry Development Ordinance' in 1999, the city has strengthened consistency and systematization of industrial policies by formulating master plans every five years.

This year's selection of leading companies was centered on 90 firms with competitiveness and growth potential across the nine strategic industries, aligned with the master plan's three major strategies: fostering future new industries, advancing key industries, and strengthening global infrastructure.

The selected companies will receive 'Leading Company Certification' for the next three years, along with preferential benefits in about 20 linked support programs, including loan and guarantee favors, special guarantees, SME operating funds, and technology development and commercialization linkages. The city also plans to expand linkages with growth ladder policies such as Hidden Champions, Global Hidden Gems, and World-Class companies to provide multi-tiered growth paths toward global enterprises.

Through this selection, the city aims to concentrate policy efforts so that forward and backward enterprises in the local industrial ecosystem grow together, leading to strengthened technological innovation capabilities, export expansion, and creation of quality jobs to revitalize the regional economy. In the first half of this year (2025), the city has solidified foundations for corporate competitiveness through R&D planning, IP securing, growth roadmaps, and commercialization support via programs like Hidden Champion nurturing and Anchor Company support.

Meanwhile, at the certificate award ceremony, Mayor Park will personally present certifications to representatives of the 90 '2026 Strategic Industry Leading Companies' and hold a communication session to hear on-site opinions.

Mayor Park Hyung-joon plans to convey: "I sincerely congratulate the companies selected as Busan's representative strategic industry leading companies," adding, "For Busan to leap as a global hub city centered on future industries, the roles of our capable local companies are more important than anything else, and the city will do its utmost to support their growth going forward.
