[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산광역시의회 예산결산특별위원회가 12월 4일부터 10일까지 부산시와 부산시교육청이 제출한 2026년도 예산안과 기금운용계획안을 본격 심사한다.  

예결특위가 심사할 부산시의 내년도 예산안 규모는 17조 9,330억 원으로, 올해 본예산(16조 6,830억 원)보다 1조 2,500억 원(7.5%) 늘었다. 시 기금운용계획안은 1조 3,662억 원 규모다.  

부산시교육청 예산안은 5조 5,317억 원으로 올해보다 1,966억 원(3.7%) 증가했으며, 기금운용계획안은 4,455억 원이다.  

조상진 예결위원장은 “이번 예산안은 경기 침체와 어려운 재정 여건 속에서 편성된 만큼, 불요불급한 예산은 과감히 줄이고 주요 사업에는 재원이 효율적으로 배분될 수 있도록 철저히 심사하겠다”고 밝혔다.  

또한 “민생경제 회복과 서민 부담 완화, 취약계층 보호 등 사회복지·보건·안전 분야와 미래 교육환경 조성, 맞춤형 학생 교육 등 시민 생활에 직결되는 사업에 우선 재원을 배분하도록 하겠다”고 강조했다.  

예결위 심사를 거친 예산안은 오는 12월 11일 본회의에서 최종 확정된다.  

[Here’s the English news version of the article] Busan Council Starts Review of 2026 Budget Plans 

The Busan Metropolitan Council’s Special Committee on Budget and Accounts began a full-scale review on December 4 of the 2026 budget proposals and fund management plans submitted by the Busan Metropolitan Government and the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education. The deliberations will continue through December 10.  

The city’s proposed 2026 budget totals 17.933 trillion won, up 1.25 trillion won, or 7.5 percent, from this year’s 16.683 trillion won. The city also plans 1.3662 trillion won in fund management. The education office’s proposed budget stands at 5.5317 trillion won, an increase of 196.6 billion won, or 3.7 percent, from this year, with an additional 445.5 billion won earmarked for its fund operations.  

Committee Chair Cho Sang-jin said the budget was drawn up under challenging fiscal conditions and emphasized prudent reviews to ensure a sound financial structure. “We will boldly cut unnecessary spending and allocate resources efficiently to essential projects,” he said.  

Cho added that priority would be given to projects supporting livelihood recovery, easing the financial burden on low-income residents, protecting vulnerable groups, improving public welfare, health, and safety, and advancing education environments tailored to students.  

The finalized budget plan will be put to a vote at the council’s plenary session on December 11.
