[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 더불어민주당 부산시당은 SK해운과 에이치라인해운의 본사 부산 이전 결정을 환영하며, 이번 조치가 부산의 해양산업 경쟁력 강화와 지역경제 활성화의 전환점이 될 것이라고 밝혔다.

부산시당은 30년 넘게 이어진 부산 시민들의 염원이었던 대기업 본사 유치가 결실을 맺었다며 SK해운과 에이치라인해운의 과감한 이전 결정을 높이 평가했다. 두 기업은 매출 기준 국내 7위와 10위의 글로벌 에너지·원자재 운송 선사로, 총 119척의 선박과 2,500여 명의 인력이 부산으로 이동할 예정이다.

시당은 이번 이전이 단순한 주소 이동이 아니라 해운·물류 산업 생태계 복원, 양질의 일자리 확대, 지역 중소기업 및 연관 산업 성장, 정주여건 개선 등 지역사회 전반에 큰 경제적 파급효과를 가져올 것으로 전망했다.

또한 해양수산부의 이전에 이어 대형 선사 두 곳이 부산을 선택하면서 부산이 해운 행정과 금융 기능이 집적된 글로벌 해양도시로 자리매김하고 있다고 강조했다.

시당은 부산시·정부·해수부와 협력해 부산이 글로벌 해운 중심지로 성장하도록 지원하겠다고 밝혔다. 아울러 부산 시민이 체감할 수 있는 일자리 창출과 경제 활력 회복에 힘쓰며, 수도권으로 향하던 기업·인재 흐름을 되돌릴 수 있도록 정책적 노력을 이어가겠다고 덧붙였다.

부산시당은 “부산이 다시 뛰는 변화의 길을 시민과 함께 완성해 대한민국의 중심 도시로 도약하도록 앞장서겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Busan chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea welcomed the decision by SK Shipping and H-Line Shipping to move their headquarters to Busan, calling it a historic turning point that will boost the city’s maritime industry and revitalise the regional economy.

The Democratic Party’s Busan chapter hailed the relocation as the realization of a long-held wish among Busan citizens to attract major corporate headquarters. The party noted that the bold decision by the two global energy and raw-material carriers signals Busan’s renewed rise as Korea’s second growth engine and a true maritime capital.

SK Shipping and H-Line Shipping rank seventh and tenth in domestic shipping revenues, respectively, and together operate 119 vessels with a workforce of more than 2,500 employees. Their move to Busan is expected to deliver far-reaching economic benefits, including the revitalisation of the shipping and logistics ecosystem, the creation of quality jobs, growth opportunities for local SMEs and related industries, and improvements in residential and business conditions.

Following the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the move by two major carriers further strengthens Busan’s position as a global maritime hub, concentrating shipping administration and financial functions. The party emphasized that this development underscores Busan’s role as a core pillar of balanced national development.

The Busan chapter stated it will work closely with the city, the central government and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to ensure the relocation becomes a structural turning point for Busan’s economy. It pledged efforts to support Busan’s growth into a global shipping centre, generate jobs and economic momentum that residents can feel, and reverse the outflow of companies and talent to the Seoul metropolitan area.

“The Busan Democratic Party will lead the way so that the city’s renewed momentum leads to real change and enables Busan to reemerge as a central force in Korea,” the chapter said.
