[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 구교성 前(전) BNK캐피탈 부사장을 신임 부산신용보증재단 제12대 이사장으로 임명했다. 구 신임 이사장은 30일부터 2년 임기로 재단을 이끈다.  

임명장 수여식은 29일 오후 2시 30분 시청 의전실에서 열렸다. 구 이사장은 35년간 민간 금융권에서 다양한 실무 경험을 쌓은 금융 전문가로, 지역 소상공인과 중소기업 지원을 강화하는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.  

구 이사장(61세)은 부산대 법대졸업 후 1991년 부산은행에 입행해 BNK금융지주와 BNK캐피탈을 거치며 기업금융본부 부사장을 역임했다. 부산시의회 인사청문회에서는 ‘적격’ 판정을 받았다.  

부산시는 민간금융 출신 이사장의 강점으로 빠른 의사결정과 위기관리 능력, 금융시장에 대한 통찰력을 꼽으며, 이를 통해 보증 심사 고도화와 부실 관리 체계 강화, 금융기관 협력 확대 등 재단의 경쟁력이 높아질 것으로 내다봤다.  

구 이사장은 “지역 소기업과 소상공인의 경영안정과 상권 활성화를 위해 맞춤형 보증상품을 적시에 공급하고, 심사 시스템을 개선해 선제적 위기 대응에 힘쓰겠다”며 “건강한 조직문화를 만들어 재단의 지속 성장을 이끌겠다”고 밝혔다.  

박형준 부산시장은 “글로벌 경기 둔화와 미중 무역 갈등 등으로 지역 자영업자의 어려움이 계속되는 상황에서, 신임 이사장이 현장 경험을 바탕으로 재단의 공공적 역할을 강화해 부산경제의 든든한 버팀목이 되어 달라”고 당부했다.

The Busan Metropolitan Government announced on December 29 that former BNK Capital Executive Vice President Koo Kyo-seong has been appointed as the 12th president of the Busan Credit Guarantee Foundation. Koo will serve a two-year term beginning December 30.  

The appointment ceremony took place at 2:30 p.m. on 29th in the city hall’s reception room. Koo, a seasoned financial expert with 35 years of experience in the private financial sector, is expected to play a key role in strengthening the foundation’s capacity to support small business owners and SMEs in the region.  

Koo began his career at Busan Bank in 1991 and went on to serve in various roles within BNK Financial Group and BNK Capital, eventually becoming Executive Vice President of the Corporate Finance Division. He was deemed suitable for the position during the Busan City Council’s personnel hearing on December 16.  

The city highlighted Koo’s strengths in prompt decision-making, crisis management, and deep insight into financial markets as key assets to enhance the foundation’s competitiveness—particularly in areas such as credit evaluation, risk management, and collaboration with financial institutions.  

Koo stated, “I will focus on offering timely and customized guarantee products tailored to Busan’s business environment, while strengthening the foundation’s credit screening system to manage risks proactively. I also aim to foster a healthy organizational culture and ensure sustainable growth for the foundation.”  

Mayor Park Heong-joon said, “As local small business owners continue to face challenges from the global economic slowdown and U.S.-China trade tensions, I hope the new president will combine his rich financial experience with the foundation’s public mission to serve as a strong partner for the Busan economy.”
