[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 상공계가 2026년 새해를 맞아 “위기를 기회로 바꾸는 해”로 삼겠다는 각오를 다졌다. 

 

부산상공회의소는 2일 오후 5시 부산롯데호텔 크리스탈볼룸에서 경제계와 정치권, 교육계 등 각계 인사들이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 신년인사회’를 개최했다. 매년 새해 첫 업무일에 열리는 부산상의 신년인사회는 지역 최대 규모의 신년 하례행사로, 새해 지역 발전의 방향과 의지를 공유하는 자리다.  

 

이날 행사에는 양재생 부산상의 회장을 비롯해 박형준 부산시장, 안성민 시의회 의장, 김석준 시교육감, 여야 지역 국회의원, 기관단체장, 언론계·시민단체 대표 등 600여 명이 참석했다. 참석자들은 엄중한 대내외 경제 여건 속에서도 지역 경제의 위기를 극복하고, 부산이 글로벌 해양수도로 도약할 수 있도록 힘을 모아 나가자고 뜻을 모았다.  

 

양재생 회장은 신년인사말을 통해 “2026년을 ‘글로벌 해양수도 부산’ 실현의 원년으로 삼겠다”며 지역경제 도약을 향한 강한 의지를 밝혔다. 양 회장은 “지난해 고물가와 고환율, 내수 부진 등 어려운 여건 속에서도 지역경제를 지켜낸 기업인들의 노고에 감사드린다”며 “이제 부산은 새로운 도약을 위한 분명한 선택의 기로에 서 있다”고 말했다.  

 

그는 부산의 미래 비전으로 해양금융·물류·산업·관광이 조화를 이루는 경쟁력 있는 도시를 제시하며 “세계가 ‘역시 부산’이라고 인정할 수 있도록 탄탄한 콘텐츠를 채워 넣겠다”고 강조했다.

양 회장은 또 “가덕도신공항 건설과 북항재개발, HMM 등 앵커 기업과의 시너지를 통해 부산을 글로벌 물류 허브로 확실히 자리매김시키겠다”며 “AI와 로봇이 주도하는 산업 전환의 흐름 속에서 기업의 체질 개선을 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.  

 

이어 “부산은 이미 연간 외국인 관광객 300만 시대를 맞았으며, 2028년까지 500만 명 달성을 목표로 하고 있다”며 “부산형 복합리조트와 관광·마이스 산업을 지역의 새로운 성장 축으로 키워 나가겠다”고 했다.  

 

양 회장은 “깨끗한 식수 확보를 포함한 정주환경 개선은 부산의 글로벌 경쟁력 확보를 위한 핵심 과제”라며 “지역경제계가 책임 있는 동반자가 되어 시민 삶의 질 향상에 힘을 보태겠다.부산이 명실상부한 글로벌 해양수도로 우뚝 서는 그날까지 두려움 없이, 가장 앞에서 뛰겠다”면서 시민과 기업 모두의 건강과 번영을 기원했다.

 

이어 박형준 부산시장은 “2026년은 부산이 명실상부한 글로벌 해양 허브 도시로 도약하는 원년이 될 것”이라며 “해양수산부 이전을 시작으로 관련 기관과 기업, 법원 등이 부산으로 집결해 새로운 혁신 생태계를 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.  

 

박 시장은 “지난해 부산의 고용률은 5년 전보다 5% 이상 상승해 역대 최대치를 기록했고, 상용근로자가 처음으로 100만 명을 넘겼다”며 “기업 투자 또한 같은 기간 25배 이상 늘어나 부산 GRDP가 전국보다 앞서 4% 가까이 성장했다”고 평가했다.  

 

그는 “붉은 말의 해, 활활 타오르는 불의 기운처럼 부산이 대한민국의 새로운 성장 엔진이 되도록 함께 뛰겠다”며 “시민과 기업 모두의 가정에 건강과 행복이 가득하길 바란다”고 덧붙였다.

이어서 안성민 시의회 의장, 김석준 교육감, 정동만(기장군) 국민의힘 부산시당위원장, 변성완 더불어민주당 부산시당위원장 등이 신념 덕담과 함께 건배 제의를 했고, 각계 참석자들은 인사를 나누며 병오년 새해 각오를 다졌다.

The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) held its 2026 New Year’s Reception on the evening of January 2 at the Crystal Ballroom of Lotte Hotel Busan. The annual event—traditionally held on the first working day of the new year—brought together leaders from the business, political, and academic sectors to share aspirations and directions for the city's economic progress.  

 

The reception drew around 600 participants, including BCCI Chairman Yang Jae-saeng, Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon, Busan Metropolitan Council Chair Ahn Sung-min, Superintendent of Education Kim Seok-jun, local lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties, heads of public institutions, media executives, and civic representatives. Despite challenging global and domestic economic conditions, participants expressed a shared determination to overcome the regional economic downturn and accelerate Busan’s advancement as a global maritime capital.  

 

In his New Year’s address, Chairman Yang declared 2026 as “the first year of realizing *Global Maritime City Busan*,” expressing strong resolve to revitalize the local economy. “I sincerely thank our entrepreneurs who have sustained the regional economy amid high inflation, a strong dollar, and sluggish domestic demand,” he said. “Busan now stands at a decisive crossroads for a new leap forward.”  

 

Yang outlined Busan’s vision as a competitive city integrating maritime finance, logistics, industry, and tourism, adding, “We will build strong and distinctive content that earns global recognition for Busan as a truly outstanding city.”  

 

He went on to state that “the construction of Gadeokdo New Airport, the redevelopment of the North Port, and synergy with anchor companies such as HMM will firmly establish Busan as a global logistics hub.” He also pledged to “actively support corporate innovation to adapt to the industrial transition led by AI and robotics.”  

 

Highlighting the city’s tourism potential, Yang noted, “Busan has already welcomed over 3 million foreign visitors annually, and we aim to reach 5 million by 2028. We will foster the Busan-style integrated resort, tourism, and MICE industries as new pillars of regional growth.”  

 

Yang further emphasized that “improving the living environment, including securing clean water for citizens, is essential to enhancing Busan’s global competitiveness.” He pledged that “the local business community will act as a responsible partner in improving quality of life. We will lead from the front until Busan rises as a true global maritime capital,” concluding his remarks with wishes for health and prosperity for all.  

 

Mayor Park Heong-joon also addressed the gathering, stating, “2026 will mark the beginning of Busan’s transformation into a true global maritime hub.” He announced that “with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries relocating to Busan, related institutions, companies, and courts will follow, forming a new innovation ecosystem.”  

 

Citing key economic achievements, Park added, “Last year, Busan’s employment rate reached an all-time high—over 5 percent higher than five years ago—with the number of full-time workers surpassing one million for the first time. Corporate investment also grew more than 25 times during the same period, driving Busan’s GRDP to outperform the national average with nearly 4 percent growth.”  

 

“In the Year of the Red Horse, we will channel the fiery energy of transformation to make Busan a driving force of Korea’s growth,” the mayor said, extending his wishes for “health and happiness to all citizens and businesses in the new year.”  

 

The ceremony concluded with congratulatory toasts and messages from Busan Metropolitan Council Chair Ahn Sung-min, Superintendent Kim Seok-jun, Jeong Dong-man (Chair, People Power Party Busan Chapter), and Byun Sung-wan (Chair, Democratic Party Busan Chapter), followed by greetings among participants who reaffirmed their renewed commitment and hopes for the Year of the Red Horse.
