[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 더불어민주당 부산시당이 2일 오전 10시 30분 중구 영주동 중앙공원 충혼탑과 민주공원 넋기림마당을 참배하고, ‘2026년 해양수도 완성, 부산 재도약’을 주제로 신년인사회를 열었다.  

이날 행사에는 변성완 부산시당위원장을 비롯해 지역위원장, 시·구의원, 지방선거 출마 예정자 등 400여 명이 참석해 시민들에게 새해 인사를 전하고 다가올 지방선거 승리를 다짐했다. 신년인사회는 오전 11시 민주공원 중극장에서 열렸다.  

부산시당은 이번 신년인사회를 시작으로 공천관리위원회 구성 등 선거기구 정비와 조직 강화에 본격 착수하며 지방선거 체제에 돌입한다.  

앞서 새해 첫날인 1일에는 정청래 당대표와 변성완 위원장 등 당 지도부가 김해 봉하마을 고 노무현 대통령 묘소를 참배한 뒤 양산 평산마을을 찾아 문재인 전 대통령을 예방했다.

변 위원장은 “병오년 새해를 맞아 부산 시민들께 건강과 행복이 가득하시길 바란다”며 “이재명 정부 출범과 함께 국정이 제자리를 찾아가고 있는 만큼, 2026년을 해양수도 완성과 부산 재도약의 원년으로 만들기 위해 시민의 신뢰를 실력과 성과로 보답하겠다”고 말했다.  

[Here’s the English news version of the article] Busan Democratic Party Holds New Year’s Gathering, Vows Victory in Local Elections

The Busan chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) held its 2026 New Year’s gathering on January 2, pledging victory in the upcoming local elections and renewed efforts for the city’s development under the slogan “Completing the Maritime Capital, Reinvigorating Busan.”  

At 10:30 a.m., around 400 participants — including Busan Party Chair Byun Sung-wan, regional chairs, city and district council members, and prospective local election candidates — paid tribute at the Memorial Tower in Jungang Park and the memorial site at Democracy Park in Yeongju-dong. The New Year’s event followed at 11 a.m. at the park’s main theater.  

With the gathering, the Busan Democratic Party formally kicked off its election season, beginning preparations to organize candidate selection committees and strengthen its local networks.  

On January 1, DPK leader Jung Chung-rae, Busan Chair Byun Sung-wan, and other senior party officials visited former President Roh Moo-hyun’s grave in Bongha Village, Gimhae, and paid a courtesy visit to former President Moon Jae-in at his residence in Pyeongsan Village, Yangsan.  

Chair Byun said, “As we welcome the Year of the Fire Horse, I wish all Busan citizens good health and happiness. With the Lee Jae-myung administration now stabilizing national affairs, our Busan chapter will strive to earn citizens’ trust through competence and results, making 2026 the first year of Busan’s new leap forward as a true maritime capital.”
