[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 해운대경찰서는 해운대와 서울 강남 일대 사우나를 돌며 현금과 고가의 시계를 훔친 혐의로 20대 남성 2명을 구속해 송치했다.   

경찰에 따르면 피의자 A씨(20대)는 지난해 12월 12일 부산 해운대구의 한 사우나에서 현금과 수표 등 80여만 원을 공범 B씨와 함께 훔친 혐의를 받고 있다. 다음날인 13일에는 같은 장소에서 타인의 옷장을 열어 시가 2,900만 원 상당의 고가 시계를 단독으로 절취한 것으로 조사됐다.  

또 다른 피의자 B씨는 지난해 11월부터 12월 사이 해운대구와 서울 강남의 사우나 4곳을 돌며 다섯 차례에 걸쳐 총 800여만 원의 현금과 시가 5,000만 원 상당의 시계 2점을 훔친 것으로 드러났다.  

두 사람의 범행으로 확인된 피해액은 총 8,800만 원에 달하며, 경찰은 현장 CCTV와 이동 동선을 추적해 A씨를 12월 15일 먼저 검거하고, 이어 23일 B씨를 검거했다. A씨는 17일 구속돼 22일 송치됐고, B씨는 25일 구속 후 29일 송치됐다.  

경찰 관계자는 “사우나 내 개인 사물함 도난 사례가 잇따르고 있어 이용객의 각별한 주의가 필요하다”고 당부했다. 

[Here’s the English news version of the article] Two Men in Their 20s Arrested for Stealing Tens of Millions of Won While Targeting Saunas in Haeundae and Gangnam

Busan Haeundae Police have arrested and referred to prosecutors two men in their 20s on charges of stealing cash and luxury watches while moving between saunas in Haeundae, Busan, and the Gangnam area of Seoul.

According to police, suspect A (in his 20s) is accused of stealing about 800,000 won in cash and checks from a sauna in Haeundae-gu, Busan, on December 12 last year, together with accomplice B. The following day, December 13, A allegedly acted alone to open another person’s locker at the same location and steal a luxury watch worth approximately 29 million won.

The other suspect, B, is accused of visiting four saunas in Haeundae-gu and Gangnam between November and December last year and committing five thefts in total, stealing about 8 million won in cash and two watches valued at approximately 50 million won.

The total confirmed 피해액 from their crimes amounts to about 88 million won. Police tracked CCTV footage and the suspects’ movement routes, arresting A first on December 15, followed by B on December 23.

A was detained on December 17 and sent to prosecutors on December 22. B was detained on December 25 and sent to prosecutors on December 29.

A police official warned, “As thefts from personal lockers in saunas continue to occur, users are urged to exercise particular caution.”
