[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 국립부경대학교가 개교 80주년과 통합 30주년을 맞아 미래 비전을 선포하며 새로운 도약을 선언했다.

국립부경대는 8일 대학본부 2층 대회의실에서 ‘개교 80주년 기념 및 미래 비전 선포식’을 열고, 대학의 역사와 성과를 되짚는 동시에 향후 발전 방향을 제시했다. 

이날 행사에는 배상훈 총장을 비롯해 전임 총장과 총동창회 관계자, 부산시 및 지역 대학, 공공기관, 주요 단체 인사들이 참석해 의미를 더했다.

행사는 기념 영상 상영을 시작으로 내빈 축사와 축전 소개, 미래 비전 선포, 축하 퍼포먼스 순으로 진행됐다. 국립부경대는 이 자리에서 ‘용기와 혁신, 도전으로 미래를 여는 강한 대학’이라는 비전을 공식적으로 선포하고, 이를 실현하기 위한 핵심 전략으로 연구중심대학, AX혁신대학, 글로벌혁신대학을 제시했다.

배상훈 총장은 기념사에서 국립부경대가 부산 최초의 고등교육기관으로서 원양어업 개척과 산업화 인재 양성에 기여해 왔다고 강조하며, 앞으로는 현재의 성과에 머무르지 않고 동남권 1위, 전국 10위, 세계 500위권 대학으로 성장하겠다는 목표를 밝혔다. 또한 지역 산업과 기업, 시민사회와의 협력을 통해 부산과 대한민국의 미래를 함께 만들어가겠다고 말했다.

Pukyong National University held a ceremony marking its 80th anniversary and the declaration of its future vision, signaling a new leap forward.

On May 8, the university hosted the “80th Anniversary and Future Vision Declaration Ceremony” in the main conference room on the second floor of the university headquarters. The event reflected on the institution’s history and achievements while outlining its future direction.

It was attended by President Bae Sang-hoon, former university presidents, alumni association leaders, and representatives from Busan Metropolitan City, regional universities, public institutions, and key organizations.

The ceremony began with a commemorative video screening, followed by congratulatory remarks, messages of support from domestic and international guests, the official declaration of the university’s future vision, and a celebratory performance.

At the event, the university proclaimed its new vision: “A strong university that opens the future through courage, innovation, and challenge,” and presented three core strategies for achieving it—becoming a research-oriented university, an AX (AI Transformation) innovation university, and a global innovation university.

In his commemorative speech, President Bae Sang-hoon highlighted Pukyong National University’s historical role as the first higher education institution in Busan, noting its contributions to pioneering deep-sea fishing and producing talent that supported Korea’s industrialization.

He emphasized that the university will not remain at its past achievements, but will strive to grow into a top university in the Southeast region, rank among the top 10 nationally, and enter the world’s top 500.

He also stressed that Pukyong National University will continue to work closely with local industries, businesses, and civil society to shape the future of young people, adding that the university will play a key role in building Busan’s future where the sea, city, industry, and culture coexist.
