김석준 부산시교육감 후보가 공식 선거운동 첫날 21일 출정식을 열고 13일간의 선거 레이스에 본격 돌입했다.

김 후보는 이날 오전 7시 30분 부산진구 서면교차로 일대에서 출근길 시민들과 인사를 나눈 데 이어, 오전 8시 같은 장소에서 ‘김석준 유세단’ 출정식을 개최했다. 이날 행사를 기점으로 본격적인 선거운동에 들어간 김 후보는 부산 전역을 순회하며 지지세 결집에 나섰다.

출정식에는 김 후보를 비롯해 선거대책위원회 관계자와 부산진갑·을 선거사무원, 지지자, 시민 등 약 100여 명이 참석했다. 부산 16개 구·군에서도 이날부터 지역 유세단을 중심으로 본격적인 선거운동이 시작됐다.

행사는 김 후보의 출마 영상 ‘김석준입니다’ 상영을 시작으로 후보 연설, 전영근 상임선대위원장의 지지 연설, ‘부산교육 도약과 미래교육 중심 도시 도약’을 주제로 한 율동 퍼포먼스 순으로 진행됐다.

김 후보는 출정식 이후에도 현장 유세를 이어갔다. 이날 점심시간에는 문현금융단지에서, 퇴근 시간에는 연산교차로에서 릴레이 유세를 펼치며 시민들에게 지지를 호소했다.

김 후보는 “이번 선거는 부산교육이 한 단계 더 도약할지, 아니면 추락할지를 가르는 중요한 분기점”이라며 “반드시 승리해 아이들의 미래와 부산교육의 미래를 열어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

이어 “전임 교육감 시절 권위주의적이고 일방적인 행정, 보여주기식 전시행정으로 혼란스러웠던 교육 현장을 1년 만에 정상화하고 교육과정과 학교 운영을 바로잡았다”며 “이제는 정상화를 넘어 미래 대전환으로 나아가야 할 시점”이라고 강조했다.

그러면서 “부산교육을 누구보다 잘 알고 실제로 변화시켜 본 경험이 있는 후보, 정직과 청렴, 능력을 갖춘 검증된 후보”라며 “김석준을 선택해 달라”고 지지를 호소했다.

Kim Seok-jun, a candidate for Busan Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education, officially kicked off his campaign with a launch ceremony on the first day of the official election period, signaling the start of a 13-day race.

On May 21 at 7:30 a.m., Kim greeted commuters at Seomyeon Intersection in Busanjin District, followed by an official campaign launch event at the same location at 8 a.m. Marking the beginning of full-scale campaigning, Kim moved to consolidate support across Busan.

Around 100 people attended the event, including Kim, members of his election committee, campaign staff from Busanjin District’s constituencies, supporters, and citizens. Campaign teams in all 16 districts and counties across Busan also began coordinated local campaigning on the same day.

The launch ceremony featured a campaign video titled “This is Kim Seok-jun,” followed by a speech from the candidate, a supporting address by chief campaign committee member Jeon Young-geun, and a performance symbolizing the advancement of Busan education and its emergence as a hub for future education.

Following the ceremony, Kim continued his outreach efforts with a lunchtime campaign at Munhyeon Financial Complex and an evening rally at Yeonsan Intersection, appealing to voters during peak hours.

Kim stated, “This election is a critical turning point that will determine whether Busan education takes a leap forward or falls behind,” adding, “I will secure victory and open a brighter future for our children and Busan’s education.”

He also said, “Within a year, I normalized an education system that had been disrupted by authoritarian, one-sided administration and showcase-driven policies under the previous leadership, restoring both curriculum and school operations.” He added, “Now is the time to move beyond normalization toward a transformative future.”

Emphasizing his experience, Kim said he is “a proven candidate who understands Busan education better than anyone, has delivered real change, and possesses integrity, competence, and experience,” urging voters to support him.
