[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 박형준 부산시장이 선거 캠프 해단식에서 지지자들에게 감사의 인사를 전하며, 선거 결과와 상관없이 부산의 미래 발전과 연대의 가치를 강조했다.

박 시장은 지난 4일 오후 3시 열린 캠프 해단식에서 "낙선했지만 선거 과정에서 있었던 일들이 의미 없는 것은 결코 아니다"라며 "그 경험들이 부산의 또 다른 미래 발전을 위해 어떤 형태로든 다 녹아들어 갈 것"이라고 소회를 밝혔다.

이어 박 시장은 무엇보다 이번 선거를 통해 얻은 '사람'의 가치를 높이 평가했다. 그는 "당장의 목적은 달성하지 못했더라도 우리 각자가 가는 길에 힘이 될 수 있는 많은 동지들을 얻었다"며 "세상에 살면서 사람을 얻은 것보다 더 좋은 일은 없다. 결코 헛된 것이 아닌 값지고 귀한 경험이었다"고 강조했다.

특히 선거 기간 동안 거리에서 헌신적으로 활동한 서포터즈들을 언급하며 "그 투지와 열정이 개인을 향한 것이 아니라, 어떻게든 나라를 바로잡고 부산을 한 번 더 발전시키고자 하는 마음이었다고 생각한다"며 깊은 감사를 표했다. 

아울러 "우리의 투지는 영원히 살아있으며, 이번에 얻은 사람 자원을 잃지 않고 계속 함께 살려 나가는 것이 필요하다"고 당부했다.

지난 시정에 대한 소회도 덧붙였다. 박 시장은 "지난 5년여간 시정을 맡으면서 정말 하루도 쉬지 않고 부산시 발전을 위해 나름 헌신했고, 그 결과가 결코 작은 것이 아니라고 생각한다"며 "이 역시 여러분들이 함께해 주신 덕분"이라고 전했다.

그러면서 그는 "이번 선거 과정에서 보여주신 빛나는 열정과 헌신에 진심으로 감사드리며, 모든 분들의 사랑으로 함께할 수 있어 행복했다"고 인사를 마쳤다.

한편, 이날 해단식에 참석한 한 비례대표 시의원은 시장의 자리를 지키지 못한 죄송함과 아쉬운 마음을 전하면서도, "보수의 심장인 부산을 어떻게든 지켜 나가겠다"며 향후 지역 발전을 위한 굳건한 결의를 다졌다.

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon expressed his deep gratitude to his supporters at the campaign dissolution ceremony, emphasizing the value of solidarity and the future development of Busan, regardless of the election outcome.

At the ceremony held at 3:00 PM on the 4th, Mayor Park began his remarks by saying, "I am the one to blame." He continued, "Although we lost, the efforts made during the election process are by no means meaningless. I believe those experiences will melt into the foundation for Busan’s future development in one way or another."

Mayor Park placed the highest value on the "people" gained through this election. "Even if we did not achieve our immediate goal, we have gained many comrades who can be a source of strength on the path each of us walks," he said. "There is nothing better in life than gaining people. It was a valuable and precious experience that was definitely not in vain."

He particularly highlighted the supporters who dedicated themselves on the streets. "I believe that their fight and passion were not for me personally, but stemmed from a desire to set the country right and to advance Busan once more," he expressed with deep gratitude. He added, "Our fighting spirit is alive forever. We must not lose the human resources we have gained and must continue to keep them alive together."

He also reflected on his past administration. "Over the past five years in office, I haven’t rested for a single day, dedicating myself to the development of Busan, and I believe the results of that dedication are by no means small," Mayor Park said. "This, too, was only possible because you were all there with me." He concluded his speech by saying, "I am sincerely grateful for the brilliant passion and dedication you showed throughout this election, and I was happy to have been with you through everyone's love."

Meanwhile, a proportional representation city council member who attended the ceremony expressed regret and apology for not being able to protect the Mayor's position, while firmly pledging, "We will protect Busan, the heart of conservatives, no matter what," demonstrating a strong commitment to the future development of the region.
